A day after Pennsylvania Superior Court denied an appeal for bail for imprisoned rapper, Meek Mill, National Action Network founder and MSNBC personality Rev. Al Sharpton has written a letter of appeal to the highest judge in Philadelphia County court.

Meek Mill’s lawyers filed the appeal last week, asking that he be released on bail while he appeals the two- to four-year prison sentence for probation violations handed down last month by Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley.

In his letter to the court, Reverend Sharpton’s requesed that the judge in the case be removed.

“I write to you as someone with deep respect for the Judicial Process and as a true believer in fairness and equality in criminal justice matters,” Reverend Sharpton wrote to the Philadelphia County court.

“You may have read of my recent involvement with the case matters of Robert Rihmeek Williams (professional known as “Meek Mill”).  He is currently serving a probation violation and was sentenced to a term of incarceration, over the objection of both the local prosecutor and the assigned probation officer, by Judge Genece Brinkley.  You may also be aware that I have publically called for Judge Genece to be removed from Mr. Williams’ matter.  This demand was generated by serious allegations of a conflict of interest with Mr. Williams.”

Civil rights leader and MSNBC political pundit Rev. Al Sharpton will be a proud poppa tomorrow. His eldest daughter, Dominique Sharpton, will marry beau Dr, Marcus Alan Bright  tomorrow at the Greater Allen AME Cathedrail in Jamaica, Queens.

On Sunday, October 15, 2017, Dominique Isis Sharpton and Dr. Marcus Alan Bright will be married by Rev. Margaret Elaine Flake at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Jamaica, New York, located at 110-31 Merrick Blvd. There will be a meet and greet reception following the ceremony in the Great Hall. The wedding is open to the general public because much of Dominique Sharpton’s life was spent at public rallies and National Action Network events where many members of the community watched her grow up.

Dominique Sharpton, 30, is an actress and producer. A Temple University grad, Sharpton is the National Director of membership at National Action Network which serves over 110 chapters across the United States.

Her fiance, Dr. Marcus Bright, 33, is an Administrator at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. Dr. Bright, Dr. Bright who received a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and World Affairs from the University of Tampa, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida International University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University is a Visiting Professor at the University of Massachusetts. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director of Education for A Better America and is a frequent contributor to various news outlets.

The bride’s mother, Kathy Jordan Sharpton is a production coordinator at the Apollo Theater and operates her own catering company. The bride’s mother also founded the Kathy Jordan Sharpton Scholarship fund over ten-years-ago. The bride’s father,  Rev. Al Sharpton, is a world renowned civil rights leader, minister and the host of three radio shows and a national cable show on MSNBC.

The groom is the eldest son of Phillip and Vanessa Bright of Martin, TN. His mother is a Speech Therapist for Weakley County Public Schools. His father is the Director of Human Resources at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Dominique and Marcus met June 1, 2012 in New York. As per a press release, Marcus was running late for a get together with mutual friends of Dominique at Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem. Marcus caught up with the group as they were leaving the restaurant and he was introduced to Dominique while she was hailing a taxi can to go home.

The two officially became a couple o n August 20, 2012, when Marcus visited Dominique in New York from Florida to officially ask her out. For a while they had a long distance relationship but he has moved to New York to be with her and the rest is history.
