$ha Delivers a New Single “AC Centrum”

Toronto artist, $ha dropped “Hustle” from his name a while back, evolving himself into an even thorough musician. His music is well known for a selection of woozy, dark trap beats with melodic vocal hooks, menacing flows and TO Caribbean slang, an increasingly prominent sound coming out of the city of Toronto.

Fresh off premiering “Don’t Worry” on Much Music, $ha delivers a brand new single titled “AC Centrum” which is produced, written and performed by him. His love for experimenting with his music and aesthetic has never been this honest. This track is a melodic take on girl problems (and resolutions) that sees the 333 head honcho wax poetic in a expertly-executed double time verse.

$ha is an original member of UTU (alongside Roy Woods) and Reps Up, whose resume goes as deep as his history in the Greater Toronto Area. Being from G-Way (which Drake famously rapped about on the “We Made It” Freestyle) to being Chubbs’ cousin, $ha has become a local celebrity who is getting serious industry looks. His previous performances include opening for Young Lean and the king of grime Skepta in Toronto. He is one of the rare Torontonian artists who has taken a notable stab at grime (because of his records like “Tings Dem”) as well as the Canadian hip-hop scene.

When it comes to the Toronto underground music scene, $ha has been the OG whose story is as deep as the culture itself. Today $ha returns to the blogs with a brand new single titled “Don’t Worry” produced by Daniel Worthy, Ashley Scott, BatmanOnTheBeatz . The content of the song is intact with the OVO/Reps Up native’s life long experiences. The song comes off his forthcoming project 333 set to drop sometime this year. With no official release date, we received this song in our inbox with the #FREESHA hashtag. P Reign continues Toronto’s dominance with his new project, “Off The Books.” While he may have started as “your favorite rapper’s shooter,” P Reign’s relentless work ethic and evolving pen game are positioning him as yet another force from across the border. “Off The Books” is an 11-cut work, finding Reign on tracks with major features like Travis Scott, fellow Canadian and OVO’er PartyNextDoor, and Young Thug and T.I. on “Dipped In Gold.” It seems almost a given that anyone affiliated with the OVO moniker blows in epic fashion; P Reign seems to be next. NEAKO teams up with RepsUp/OVO artist and Toronto underground legend Sha Hustle for a brand new track titled “333 Connection”. The track comes off NEAKO’s new project Xanada which is set to release later this year and features a whole lot of Toronto based up and coming artists. Keys N Krates & P. Reign – “Yes We Faded”

Toronto production trio Keys N Krates links with fellow Canadian and RepsUp/OVO rhymer P.Rein for “Yes We Faded.” Even though we haven’t had much time to live with this release, it’s sustainability and playback appeal is abundantly evident at the 0:01 mark of the record. It’s intoxicating. (Pun intended) Rapid rattling snares lend way to soft keys and a low-bass, melodic chant that matches P. Reing’s distinguished voice and smooth vocals to a T. Would it be too much to ask for 8-11 more like this on a joint project? Let’s hope not.
