“Pop!” itself is a blunted, trippy musical experiment from the Portland-based trio of Rare Treat (vocalists Myke Bogan and The Last Artful, Dodgr, and producer Neill Von Tally), so it’s only fitting that the song’s new video is just as left-field and dynamic.

The effects-laden “Pop!” video is directed by Tim Slew of Soundlapse, who’s previously worked with both Bogan and Dodgr in addition to other notable Northwestern artists. And with “Pop!”, Slew clearly used the smoked-out source material as his inspiration, and it makes for a colorful, psychedelic viewing experience.

Dodgr and Bogan take center stage here, commanding the entire listening and viewing experience. Of course, Tally’s earwormy production is the blueprint for “Pop!” and it’s the perfect canvas for his collaborators to flex their vocal gifts. That’s particularly true of Dodgr, whose hook is so infectious you’ll be singing it for the rest of the day. That goes for the remainder of their Rare Treat project, which is one of the more refreshing and unique rap projects to drop this summer.
