If everything goes according to plan, N64, the new mixtape from Denzel Curry, will prove that he can stand out among the best rappers to claim the South Florida Coast. Curry says that the project is set to drop on September 3rd, but apparently, this new track that he released today via Soundcloud, “Live This Shit” isn’t going to be on the official track list. The track showcases the rapper’s lyricism and highlights Curry’s ability to switch flows successfully over a powerful Spaceghost Purp beat. If “Live This Shit” wasn’t good enough to make the starting lineup for N64, then the cuts yet to be released must really be something special.

Who would’ve ever thought we would see a Raider Klan and Sir Michael Rocks collab? In a hip-hop atmosphere that has collaborations between Mac Miller and Sean Price, though, anything can happen. The vicious, plodding”Shepherd” will be featured on Ashley Outrageous’ upcoming compilation tape The Playlist Vol. 3.

North Carolina hasn’t really had too many people represent their music scene in a big way since Petey Pablo’s “Raise Up”, which is sad because the Tar Heel State is slowly making progress. JK The Rapper and his collective FANG are from a small North Carolina town called Greensboro but they’re staying true to the pillars of classic hip-hop. With bass heavy instrumentals and a few boom bap tracks, he put together a nice project. Ill Life 2 features members of the Raider Klan, Speakz, and of course J.K.’s FANG comrades. January blessed us with the first track off of Denzel Curry‘s upcoming album Nostalgic 64 featuring South Florida’s Yung Simmie and Robb Bank$. Now March has brought us the visuals for “Threatz,” with appearances by not only Bank$ and Simmie, but every other person is RVIDXR KLVN too.

Like everything the RVIDXR’s have been putting out, Denzel Curry’s new music video is both raw and eerie, taking place in the South Florida everglades on an abandoned, military base. Denzel Curry’s visuals usually have a signature “Boyz in the Hood: Chopped and Screwed 2.7.5” aesthetic, but this time video directors Unkleluc & FXRBES chose to deviate from the formula and showcase the KLVN swagged out in tinted royal purple — like they’ve been sipping on radioactive purple smurf juice. This psychological YouTube thriller takes a journey through the mind of Raider Klan rapper Dcnzel Curry. The LVND, as Curry calls it,  is what would happen if Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca of Three Six Mafia directed their own black-and-white, scary, musical movie set in the hoods of the Florida. The video’s story line comes from the combination of three Denzel Curry Songs joined by visuals that can only be described as raw, dark, twisted and fantastic. So if you’re into cult classic horror films like the 1979 flick Phantasm or Raider Klan’s low-fi Memphis revival sound, then the LVND is something you need to check out.
