Issa Rae is heading into 2018 with two new series in the works.

According to published reports, Rae and HBO have teamed up once again for two new series, the comedy, Him Or Her, and the drama, Sweet Life both of which are a part of the first-look deal Rae signed in 2016.

Him Or Her executive produced by Rae and former Daily Show writer Travon Free and Denise Davis is a single camera half-hour show that chronicles the dating life of a bisexual black man and the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in.  Him or Her marks the first show since Logo’s  2006 series Noah’s Arc that will feature an openly bisexual character of color.

Her second upcoming series in development, Sweet Life, is “a coming of age tale of the well-heeled teens growing up” in the “Black Beverly Hills” neighborhood of Windsor Hills. Rae co-created the series with Scandal producer Raamla Mohamed, who both also serve as executive producers and are writing the script.

Rae has garnered fame for her ability to showcase the diversity of black culture without seemingly boxing her characters in stereotypical roles.

Last October Rae talked to Refinery29 about her first HBO show Insecure, saying, “I just want it to feel like it’s normalized regular Blackness. That people will look at it and be like oh, this was part of the start of diversifying Blackness without it constantly dealing with crazy drama or racial strife. Insecure is just a slice of life. It’s just Blackness, told in a regular way.”

Although she has two shows in development, Issa assured fans that Insecure’s third season is in the works.

In addition to Insecure‘s third season, she’s also producing another 1990s-set, LA drama at the network as well.
