New York City is in a frenzy right now, let’s just keep it trill. Instead of anointing obvious torchbearers like Joey Bada$$ & A$AP Rocky with the crown, the city has allowed for artists like Six9ine to come along and sit in the throne, which has created a weird, hostile feeling in The Big Apple.

Enter in Long Island native, Qur’an.

Hailing from the middle class suburb of Far Rockaway, the 22-year-old artist restores the feeling on his new project, ‘Prima Della Rinascita,’ an enjoyable 10-track body of work that showcases Qur’an’s knack for production, keen melodies and stout lyricism. Songs like, “Show You Off” highlight the NY native’s willingness to experiment with different sounds while tracks like, “Winner Circle” & “Faded” are early candidates to be standouts from the project.
