“This cassette was made with dust, vinyl, drum machines, breaks, kicks, snares, chops, kicks, loops, and soul.”

We witnessed this entire project unfold. Ologist, by way of Virgina and a proud Better Beat Bureau member, reached out to “some of the dopest producers” he knew via Instagram in the summer of 2015. The project’s original title, or concept rather, was The IG Beat Collective – which is self explanatory and simply amazing if done properly. But that is no issue for Ologist and producer Analog Burners, who both formulated the project now known and available as ‘When Crates Create‘.

Toggling back and forth on the which physical format to release the 18-track collaboration, they chose cassette. Oh yes, a good old classic beat tape. Boy how we miss those, huh? Perhaps this doesn’t tickle the fancies of the average radio listener or trap star, and that is totally okay. This predominately caters to an audience of true school, and old school, hip-hop heads – but not limited to. Your grandmother or country ass brother in-law could easily ride out to the wide, yet cohesive body of work.

There are too many names to list for you, but check the track list out as you stream it. If you’re not familiar with a lot of the beat smiths throughout the tape, do know they all take this craft very seriously and give eternal praise to the culture – as you should too. Yeah you. Enjoy the stream and keep up with the lords. Peace and love:

When Crates Create by When Crates Create

If you missed Analog Burners & Starvin B‘s ‘Starvicide‘ release feel free to splurge. It’s something you should probably be familiar with. One love.

Are you tired of purchasing drums kits only to be dissatisfied by the lack of quality? I think we’ve all been there before. Snares that sound cut off and kicks that have some sort of music behind it. You know the types. Confidence decided to put together drum kits that he’s used in his own productions and beats so that all the sounds you’ll get are nothing but official. All 20 kits contain a kick, snare and hi hat all separated into folders together.

Introducing Neck Snapping Drums Vol. 1: These kits are ready to go and really don’t need any processing. Reverb, eq and compression have been added to help create that neck snapping sound. At $1 a kit, and $20 for the whole set, the value is tremendous:

Neck Snapping Drums Vol. 1 Link

And for all you late bloomers we attached a few highlights below from some of Confidence’s most acclaimed records. The underground has been behind Confidence for years now, with a solid line-up of releases over the years. If you are not familiar, let this be the last time you say that. You will thank us afterwards.

Rashad & Confidence – “The City” off The Element of Surprise (2011) Cuts by Dj Technic

Purpose (Tragic Allies) & Confidence – “Unstoppable” off The Purpose of Confidence (2012)

G. Dot & Born – “Class Is In Session” off Confidence Presents: G. Dot & Born Featuring Edo. G (2014) Cuts by Dj Technic

If you are not sold by now than we don’t really know what to tell you. Confidence has been swaying below the radar for years with classic underground material. Anyone who follows real hip-hop and keeps up with the scene will tell you this is beyond a deal. If you produce and want ill drums now is your chance, once again. Peace and prosperity.

JR & PH7 are a production duo from Germany who have worked with some of your favorite Hip-Hop artists, including Skyzoo, Sean Price, Black Milk, Torae, Phonte, and Kev Brown to name a few. The pair offers a breath of fresh air as far as hope in real Hip-Hop is concerned, and their work is beyond worthy of checking out if you are unfamiliar.

Chuuwee is a young, energetic emcee hailing from the streets of Sacramento. He is an up-and-coming artist to keep an eye on as his lane continues to expand and he grows both individually and with Below System Records. Check out the ill visuals provided by Max Gudczinski and Ingo Leffin below:

“Poetic Justice” featuring Drake (produced by Scoop Deville)

Scoop Deville: I got together with Kendrick in the beginning of the year when he was in the studio recording a bunch of records with [Dr.] Dre and the Aftermath camp. Stat Quo brought some records that I did, Dre was really feeling “The Recipe” and a few other joints I did so he wanted me to be a part of the project. I did “Poetic Justice” about a year ago and I was holding on to it. I sent it over to Kendrick and he was feeling it from the jump. When I first found out that Drake was going to be on it, it was a shock because it meant that they were going to do something really big for the record. It is definitely something for the ladies, a radio friendly record and very different from the other records on the album.

Two of the Watch the Throne producers, Southside (“Illest Motherfucker Alive”), and Lex Luger (“H•A•M”) collaborate on a beat for Flockaveli TV. Funny when you think about Consequence’s ‘Puppet Master’ diss, and then witness the extreme decadence and indulgence of Luger and Sizzle’s production suite, compared to that of West’s and Jay-Z’s.
