Dope Fantasy drops creatively macabre visual for “Pressure.” As the Chicago 4-some readies the release of their upcoming project S.L.A.M (Sorta Like A Mixtape) in June, DF links with DJ Taye and C-Sick to present a captivating sound and video alike. “Pressure” is a winding, thought-provoking narrative that challenges the normalcy of the way we often listen to and absorb music. Equipped with gritty and darker tones, Dope Fantasy’s “Pressure” explores life’s trials; an expressive journey which connects the proverbial dots between personal actualization and the demands of both the culture, and the less-notable side of the business. The ubiquitous “two heads are better than one” expression holds true as four voices and minds are collectively stronger than one in regards to Dope Fantasy artistic process. The group’s lyrical and contextual approach to “Pressure” strips away all commercial expectations to deliver a true piece of art; a direct, socially-concious dialogue which speaks on the community and industry in which different elements add a variety of individual takeaways. This sonic possess the ability to be far reaching, and as cut that focusses on the meaning as opposed to the turn up, that’s an increasing rarity. DF doesn’t shy away from the harsher realities of street life in Chicago on “Pressure,” but it’s what’s in the record’s message that really resonates with listeners from all walks of life. This track/video sets the standard incredibly high for S.L.A.M, but they can most assuredly handle the pressure.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Steve Aoki had signed Florida-bred emcee Will Brennan to his label Dim Mak.  Then, we also got the new track from Brennan produced by DJ Burn One, in the form of “Pressure.”  With the track, Brennan explains his mission statement telling listeners who he is and who he wishes to be.  With his new track, “Bet That” Brennan hooks up with his label mate Keys N Krates for production.  This track is Brennan‘s first collaboration with label mates.  For the track, Brennan once again takes a introspective view talking about his transformation from child to the emcee we see today.  I’m definitely a fan of Brennan and can’t wait to see what else he has coming in the works.

Following his last release in the form of visuals for “Let’s Play Liar Liar” to commemorate his signing with Steve Aoki’s label, Dim Mak Records, Florida grown emcee Will Brennan is releasing his new track “Pressure.”  For the song, Brennan hooks up with producer DJ Burn One for a song blending a Regina Spektor sample with a New Orleans vibe.  The production of the song also contains a live guitar solo by Ricky Fontaine and keyboard solo laid out by Walt Live.  The song as Brennan explains is a mission statement speaking to who he is and who he wants to be.
