The last time I talked politics with NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley, he wasn’t sure who he was voting for in the 2016 presidential election. A registered voter in Arizona, he was skeptical.

“I’m not undecided between them two, I’m undecided on whether I’m going to vote or not,” Barkley told me in October.

Back then, the Arizona Republic/Morrison/Cronkite News  ran a poll that stated that Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton was hanging on to a small but widening lead over Republican candidate, Donald Trump. The poll also stated that Clinton was supported by 39 percent of likely Arizona voters surveyed. Trump was backed by 33.9 percent. “She ain’t got no chance of winning Arizona,” Barkley said in October.  “Let me tell you something, them people vote Republican no matter what.”

Barkley also was critical of Trump’s use of ‘locker room talk.’ A tape from 2005 emerged of Trump boasting to former NBC correspondent Billy Bush that being famous allowed him to ‘do anything’ to women, including grabbing “them by the pu**y.”

“It’s never appropriate to touch a woman, or grab a woman,” Barkley told me in the fall. “I have a daughter too. It’s never appropriate to sexually assault or harass a woman, ever!

Well, it’s now April 2017 and Donald J. Trump, the real estate billionaire is now Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States of America. There were many who assumed that Hillary Clinton would be the outright winner of the election.

Appearing on Scoop B Radio Overtime, Barkley broke it down.

“We were dead wrong, said Barkley on Scoop B Radio Overtime. “You know what? I look at it like this: we didn’t win, it was difficult I was probably in a funk for a week, but you know what? I’m gonna try to do everything in my power to support the President because he’s the President of The United States.”

“I mean we got to get behind him, he’s done some things already that I don’t like, I’m against the Muslim ban, I’m against the immigration deportation, he’s got to stop trying to paint everybody with a broad brush. I mean It’s just wrong, most of these Muslim people here are amazing, hard-working people same thing with these illegal immigrants, they’re here, they’re hard working people. I think most people don’t want gangsters here, people don’t want terrorists here we all understand that, but people have to be able to be treated with respect and dignity.”

President Obama is likely to go down in history for many reasons other than being the first Black president. His charisma, rhetoric and love for the kids are qualities that we have grown accustomed to and will surely be missed come next January. It seems as though we know so much about him but there’s so much to learn about young POTUS. We all know that he received his B.A. from Columbia University and J.D. from Harvard but the lifestyle that he lived at the time is still something of mystery to the general public. According to Complex, there is a new biopic about Barak’s college days in New York City.

It has been confirmed that there will be a biopic about the young Obama navigating his way through college in The Big Apple and it ought to be pretty interesting to say the least. Through his 1995 memoir “Dreams of My Father,” we learned that he often smoked marijuana and even experimented with booger sugar, also known as cocaine. The new film has been titled “Barry” and the actor set to portray the leader of the free world is Devon Terrell, which we have learned from BET. He is not a household name, but after filming starts in April, this will undoubtedly change.

Though President Obama is widely known as the first black president, it is not the first time that he has received the title. During his days at Harvard he was elected as the first Black president of Harvard Law Review. Many details of his past will be revealed in the biopic which should be a fascinating story of our current POTUS.

It looks like Pusha T just added more to his plate with the announcement of his new job title as President of G.O.O.D. Music. Already an artist on the label, label founder Kanye West suggested that the rapper should take on the new role. With an overlying goal to “manicure the label,” King Push plans to focus on marketing for artists, maximizing on various avenues (music, fashion, art, etc.), and freeing up some responsibilities for West so he can hone in on being a producer. Even with the artist stepping into a bigger set of shoes, he assures fans that he has plans to still make and put out music.
