Yesterday marked the 18-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and apropos of the timing Paul Farmer’s released his new book, Haiti After the Earthquake. Farmer’s retelling of the relief and recovery efforts sheds light on a facet of the situation in Haiti that many were not privy to.  He goes on to delve into the history of destructive politics that have hampered Haiti’s push towards modernization.  The importance of this book is paramount with Haiti still in desperate need.
