Today is also a special day because Philthy released his highly-anticipated album, N.E.R.N.L. 4, which of course includes the aforementioned single.

N.E.R.N.L. 4 marks over a dozen studio albums for Philthy Rich, on top of his huge catalog of mixtapes, singles and more. But this album isn’t just another project on the stack for Philthy. As he moves into Rap veteran status, he’s focused more than ever on supporting other artists with his work:

“I’m about showing love and paying homage to the up and coming, and the ones that did it before me. That’s how I look at it. It’s a lot of Bay Area artists on this new tape because I salute all the up and coming artists that’s doing they thing here.”

The “Take Something” song and video shows Philthy Rich with Bay Area talents Yid, SOB’s Slimmy B and Lil Yee in a crime scene with two machine gun-wielding women threatening a man tied up in a chair. Philthy sets the scene by burning through some bands (literally) while Lil Yee sings the hook about getting what he needs, “…Regardless of what is given. Just look at where we came from/I was down, I was lonely/Looking for a way, you didn’t show me/You ain’t giving, we gon take something…”

The Bay’s favorite luxury rapper Philthy Rich dropped his smash single “Right Now” last Summer. Yesterday, the Traxamillion-produced track took on a new life as legends E-40 and Too Short joined Philthy and singer Ziggy for a hot remix video. The visuals for “Right Now (Remix)” dropped on WorldStarHipHop and sparked huge anticipation for Philthy’s The Remixes II album release this weekend!

The new video for this Bay Area banger raises the stakes from the original Hatch 86 visual, with video vixens who FIRE DANCE and signature contortionist moves from Oakland’s Turffeinz crew. In the “Right Now (Remix)” behind the scenes video seen below, it’s clear director Josh Fields wanted to elevate the vibe of the original track, bringing in metallic environments and neon lights to compliment the luxury cars and stacks.

But the biggest “Right Now (Remix)” win is the love shown by the legendary Too Short and E-40! These OG artists are keeping the Bay flavor alive and fanning the flames for the album of remixes that Philthy Rich’s fans have been waiting for, The Remixes II, available today on all platforms.
