William Street Records is the joint venture of Adult Swim‘s William Street Studios and Warner Music Group. The project has produced the likes of JDilla, Killer Mike, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Soundtrack and now PhaseOne. We showed you some of Phaseone‘s tracks before and now that he’s even closer to landing some studio time with hip hop moguls like GZA, we want to make sure you are updated with all of his newest releases.

Phaseone‘s latest beat “Hunter” will be featured on his upcoming album: If I Tell U. The song features vocals from Rachel Brown of Field Mouse and is one of the producer’s most dynamic beats yet.  If I Tell U is due out May 7th from Williams Street Records and serves as the follow up to Killer Mike’s R.A.P. Music.

Phaseone is a Brooklyn via St. Louis producer and composer who put himself on the map with remixes of Animal Collective, Burial and Nite Jewel. Now he’s putting his solo production in the spotlight with his second full length album, which will be the first off of Adult Swim‘s new record label, Williams Street Records. While Phaseone’s music on the whole isn’t hip-hop, the genre’s influence can definitely be felt in the way he structures his rhythm and bass, as well as in his use of  samples and loops. Check out Phaseone’s first single “Blood Spirit I” from the new LP If I Tell U, plus some of his more hip-hop centered tracks below.

Phaseone is scheduled to work with GZA on the rapper’s upcoming projects, so we’re curious to see how the artists’ two styles will blend together. From what we’ve heard, it’s definitely going to interesting, and fans should stay on the lookout for any forthcoming releases from either of the two.
