Grammy nominated Singer/Songwriter and Producer A-Lex, has officially released his hot new single titled Already Rich. Having found success pinning hits for the likes of Trippie Redd, Keke Palmer, T-Pain, Musiq Soulchild, and Kodie Shane, he is ready for the world to hear just how talented of a singer he is, outside of just writing. Being heavily influenced by Andre 3000, Pharrell Williams and Frank Ocean, A-Lex has been able to create his own sounds that resembles each of these artists’ music styles.

On Already Rich, A-Lex shows us how ill his rap flows are over the booming Hip Hop beat. Destined to set your ears on fire, this single is exactly what the Atlanta native needs to establish himself as an artist in the music business. Some lyrics that stand out on this release include “I still remember the times when n****s ain’t lookout, I move in silence I’m good without them they shook”. These lyrics convey his raw confidence as he takes his prolific bars to new heights.

One notable element of “Already Rich” that is note worthy is the catchy chorus. The chorus is where this emcee reminds listeners that he was “Already Rich” despite the naysayers. With an original sound, new music, and backing from some of music’s biggest stars he is headed straight to stardom. He does a great job of showcasing his gifts as a songwriter, creative, and artist on his latest release.

This month, we at least get to hear a new track from them in the form of Pharrell’s “Letter To My Godfather,” a contribution to the Netflix documentary The Black Godfather, which centers around longtime music executive Clarence Avant.

Festival season for the East Coast just got a lot better. Living legend Pharrell Williams has announced his own three-day music festival titled Something In The Water, which takes place in Virginia Beach and already features an impressive inaugural line-up: Pusha T, SZA, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Jaden Smith, A$AP Ferg and the like have been confirmed as headliners. Obviously, Pharrell will be taking to the stage as well.

“Allen Iverson. Missy Elliott. Dave Matthews Band. Ella Fitzgerald. Virginia has been home to some of the most gifted artists, athletes, and scientists to ever live. And it makes sense – the people of Virginia are one-of-a-kind: uniquely gritty, bold, and brilliant… For the first time, we are harnessing that energy, bringing the great minds of our time and the biggest brands in the world to this great place, and letting the inspiration flow and well deserved opportunities unfold. Virginia needs this right now and the world will see what we Virginians have known all along: there really is Something in the Water.”

Come Friday, Calvin Harris will liberate his fifth studio album Funk Wav Bounces, Vol. 1. Following a slew of feature-packed singles, the Scottish DJ now debuts a new visual from the project for “Feels,” which features Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean.

The clip — directed by Emil Nava — perfectly matches the Summer beach vibe of the track, which all collaborators enjoying a (trippy indoor?) island getaway.

Unless you’ve been living on another planet, you’re aware of the impact that Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” had on music back in 2013 — this was all started via his collaboration with the successful animated film franchise Despicable Me (it was part of the franchise’s second installment, and also appeared on Pharrell’s album G I R L). Now, Pharrell, Gru and the Minions look to strike again with/for Despicable Me 3 (hitting theatres June 30th).

This week, Pharrell liberates the new track and visual for “Yellow Light,” which he co-produced with Mike Larson and keeps with the theme of finding positivity in an oft-not-so-bright world:

Kill whatever you want
And undo what was done
But one thing you can’t kill is the fun
The yellow light shining down…

The clip keeps with the warm sentiment, as Pharrell finds himself (dance) fighting against (Despicable Me 3 supervillain) Balthazar Bratt to save the Minions from their digital world trap.

Enjoy “Yellow Light” below. As expected, the song will appear on the official soundtrack for the film, which is essentially another Pharrell Williams album (as can be seen in the provided tracklisting). You can pre-order that via iTunes before it drops in a couple of weeks.
