Big Boi continues to bring us awesome mash-ups of his music, this time taking 80s hit “Take On Me” by A-ha and making it his own. He combines “Take On Me” with his A$AP Rocky and Phantogram collaboration “Lines,” which in turn becomes “Lanes.” It has a real disco/EDM feel that works well with the Outkast rapper’s flow and style, and the two tracks from different eras end up mashing up together nicely. Big Boi is destined to make a comeback before the end of this year. The hip-hop aficionado will drop his sophomore album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, on December 11, and has already graced fans with two singles from the release.

The latest single is “Lines,” a percussive head-banger that features a guest verse from A$AP Rocky and a melodic hook from Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel.

As always Big Boi is on point, producing rhyme after rhyme with the utmost ease.
