Mashups are a tricky thing to create. More often that not, they flat-out suck because the songs aren’t right together. Other times, they suck because they’re half-assed Garage Band clippings of Eminem and Tupac verses stuck together for YouTube views. However, sometimes songs are blended and fit so well that it feels like kismet.

Kanye West’s Yeezus has drawn plenty of extreme praise, as well as extreme hate. One thing everyone can agree on, though, is that it’s unconventional. And when songs are unconventional, like “Black Skinhead” is, they allow for a certain degree of experimentation. Enter: Dan Chamberlain and Nate Belasco. Both men took the jarring and abrasive Yeezus single and gave it an extra layer of depth. Check them out now.

Tame Impala’s “Elephant”  shares similar sounds as “Black Skinhead,” which is always a plus in a mashup. Washington, D.C.-based producer Nate Belasco built on those similarities and created a mashup worthy of your attention. Stream it below.

Now, if ever there were two songs meant to be together, it’s “Black Skinhead” and Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.” David Gahan’s “reach out and touch me” vocals sound perfectly at home next to Kanye’s screams.
