Pearlie Mae Smith, 70, purchased her powerball ticket at a 7-eleven fair and square. After putting together $6 dollars for the ticket with her children, doubt she knew she’d be blessed with the winning numbers!

The mother of 7 will be splitting the money with her children. The family was announced this weekend and were the only to have the winning ticket. One of the seven children called this miracle “divine intervention.” The mother, from Trenton, is a church pastor who says the numbers popped into her head and she felt obligated to act on them. They will be receiving a lump sum of $284 million that they will split 8 ways.

“It was like affirmation from God because we each have dreams that we want to fulfill in this life, and do for our community and do for each other and for our families and we have been funded to do that,” said Ms. Arthur, who retired last year as a prison administrator.

According to NY Times, one of Smith’s daughters, Katherine Nicole Nunnally, had led a mentoring program for 15 years to help young women, but she now has the money to underwrite it. Also, the family will be using the money to pay off college loans, mortgages, tithing their 10% of winnings to God and helping out the Trenton Community.

There have been some downfalls for some lottery winners such as blowing their money and ending up back where they started. It’s clear to see nothing but the best for this family though, due to them using this blessing the right way!
