Before Slaughterhouse member Crooked I was rapping double-time alongside Royce da 5’9, Joell Ortiz and Joe Budden at Shady Records, the Long Beach emcee spent some time in label-limbo. He ended up settling at Death Row for a long period, but before that, he bounced around. He recently sat down with Vlad TV to give us the nitty gritty. It’s definitely a story worth checking out. Watch below.

In keeping with a growing theme, amidst a sea of apparent shots, ANTHM tosses some high praise Kendrick Lamar’s way. Other than that, it’s all-out assault, riffing on the assertion that ANTHM is “not a Freshman, nigga check my grades in this class. / Battle me? Better off facing Jason Mraz.” If you didn’t know, ANTHM and Los Angeles’ Blu a.k.a. GodLeeBarnes just released a far chiller tape, Handful of Dust, which deserves a spin and a purchase after you listen to ANTHM get grimy below.

Xzibit’s new album Napalm hits stores tomorrow. On “1983” we are giving an extremely introspective version of Mr. X to the Z. You may remember back-to-back Eminem features on his two Dr. Dre-produced albums in the early 2000’s, however not much happened between the two afterwards. With audio recordings of his late mother spliced between the verses, Xzibit details his parting ways with Paul Rosenberg, his mother passing and his resentment towards MTV. Listen below.
