Enter Rochelle Jordan, hailing from Toronto, who’s just released this cut off her upcoming album ROJO. It’s called “Sing,” and it features rapper Jon Connor from Flint, Michigan.

The Neptunes are a gift that just keeps on giving. They’ve inspired a cult of producers who swear by vintage synths and unexpected chord changes, most notably Tyler, the Creator. But Pat Preezy and Rahk take a different approach than Mr. Creator, releasing a series of instrumental mixtapes like their most recent Sorry for the Neptunes. Check the tracklist, which is fucking stupid/hilarious:

1. Intro
2. 9th Planet
3. Hmmmmmmmm No Sirrrrrrrrr
4. Camel
5. Black & Blue Website
6. Interlude
7. Justin Timbercreek
8. Madonna Gap Teeth
9. Where Is Kelis
10. Soft Candy
11. Outro

The tape is brilliant, and well worth your download. After the jump, check our interview with Pat.

What is it about the ‘Tunes that inspire such good music from their Stans?
I think the Neptunes inspire all, because they make music people can relate to. I for one can say N*E*R*D’s In Search Of… was the soundtrack to my summers as a teenager. I grew up listening to all types of music — 70’s, 80’s and 90’s R&B. A lot of hip-hop in the 90’s….and all that shit is cool….but the Neptunes did something NO other producers/artist were able to do….and that was like them before I knew who the hell they were. I didn’t “know” who the Neptunes were until I found the old N-E-R-D.com forum. I also thought Pharrell was some nappy mustache dude that was dancing in everyone video’s not knowing he was 1/2 of the greatest production duo of all time.

What was your process in creating “Sorry for the Neptunes”?
Well…it all started out of boredom…..just like the first beat tape (Return of the Clones). I don’t know what Rahk does to prepare….but I really have to get in “Neptunes mode.” Trucker hat…BBC tee…..camo shorts….the whole 9 yards. Normally I’ll watch a little of the “Justified” session…..listen to a few albums in the direction I wanna go and then we pump out as many tracks within a 10 hour time frame. I believe it was like 40 plus beats…..11 made the tape. Not to say those tracks were ass or anything….they just might go on something else.

What do you hope becomes of it?
It doesn’t matter what becomes of it. A lot of people did some tracks to the first 2 beat tapes so if they wanna do something to it to get their dreams out…..I’m down for it. We did this tape with the same purpose in mind…..to tell Pharrell and Chad thank you. It’d be dope to see them 2 tweet about the tapes or mention it somewhere.

What equipment do you use?
Fruity Loops 10. Rahk uses Logic Pro.

Can you say something about your collaborations with Tyler?
No comment….nothing to say. We’ll have to wait and see.

What projects do you have coming up?
As of now finishing Conrizzle’s CranGrape and More White Girls album and a female singer by the name of Rochelle Jordan. I’m doing a few things on her album “ROJO” which is gonna have a Neptunes type feel through the whole thing from the tracks I’ve heard. Then she has another project called In Search Of……..Radio which is a N*E*R*D/Radiohead inspired free LP. As for another Neptunes beat tape………….if I do make another one……I wanna go in the direction as if I was making Neptune beats for Michael Jackson. Who knows when that will drop.
