Peep the Visual: “Runway” from OSBS is a Trippy Reminder of Their Versatility

L.A. rap duo OSBS is proving their versatility with “Runway,” the follow-up video to the designer-heavy look of “Fall Back” with Lil Baby, released to critical acclaim earlier this month. “Runway” is a dream-like experience, with beautiful women wearing costumes, stacks of money, and neon signs illuminating the abstract location. As Smokeone explained in a recent interview, “We were actually supposed to shoot the video for the ‘Marathon Intro’ but when we got to the spot we saw all the art…we decided we needed to shoot ‘Runway’ instead.”

Hailing from South Central L.A. and building from the legacy of their label, Uneek Music, rap duo OSBS (On Sum Bullsh%t) is merging the unmistakable vibe of their home soil with a cutting-edge sound that draws heavily from Atlanta’s trap music stronghold. In this melodic single, the lyrics detail a lifestyle of non-stop moves, seven days a week:

I met that b***h on a Monday/ Walked that one right down the runway/ I am not scared of the gunplay/ I give a f**k what your son say

Record label mates of the late legend Nipsey Hussle, OSBS (made up of D5 and Smokeone) has just the right mix of youthful originality and hard-earned wisdom. In a matter of months from the start of their young career, the duo racked up high-profile collaborations with Gunna, Lil Baby and more. Their track with 2 Chainz off first album No Cap quickly spawned millions of streams and their nation-wide tour with Wiz Khalifa had them rocking huge crowds right out the gate. Now on their sophomore album, the guidance of these huge artists has solidified into a new level of swag for OSBS…and a sound that the press is calling “addictive.”

(the L.A. rap duo of D5 and Smokeone) rep Los Angeles all day, but they have major love for Atlanta as well, as evidenced by their frequent collaborations with artists like 2 Chainz, Gunna and Lil Baby. On their single “Fall Back” from debut album No Cap, Lil Baby vibes perfectly with Smoke and D5 as they reminisce on life lessons that made them step back and reflect: B***h I came up from the floor so I need all that/ Got this money on my mind so I can’t call back/ Just blew a hundred bands and made it all back/ I kept wasting all my time I had to fall back.
