Attorney Gloria Allred is kind of a big deal. Bill Cosby, President Donald Trump, OJ Simpson, Eddie Murphy, Tiger Woods, Michael Jackson are names that the Philadelphia native and Los Angeles-based lawyer has taken to task in court.

Tabbed as a feminist lawyer, Allred was honored last year at the 2016 International Women’s Forum (IWF) World Leadership Conference with the 2016 IWF Women Who Make a Difference Award.

She’s cementing a legacy and for those tardy to the party, her daughter, Lisa Bloom, is representing Blac Chyna in her revenge porn cases against ex-beau Rob Kardashian.

But I digress.

In a recent chat with me on Scoop B Radio, Gloria Allred shared her wish list of activists that she wished that she could have worked with. “I can answer that question pretty quickly actually cause Susan B Anthony,” Allred told me in an appearance on Scoop B Radio. “And Elizabeth Cady Stanton. I would’ve loved to have met them. They are my heroes. They fought for the right to vote for women and Sojourner Truth, of course, as well they all did and at great sacrifice of themselves.”

In 1997 Allred was honored with the Outstanding Member Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers. And in 1998 she was named one of The Most 50 Powerful Women in Los Angeles Law by the Los Angeles Business Journal and selected by the National Law Journal as one of The 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America.

She added more background to her who’s who of leading ladies she’d love to have worked with.

Voted one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in 1986, Allred earned her B.A. with honors in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her M.A. from New York University and her J.D. cum laude from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles. She was also awarded an honorary J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. “You know you don’t have to be a famous person to win change,” she told me on Scoop B Radio.

Allred added about Rosa Parks:

“She was not a famous person. So we can all have as I say in my book ‘A Rosa Parks moment every day.’ And we should have a Rosa Parks moment everyday where we’re not only a witness to what is wrong but we take action to right that wrong.”

Allred is a founding partner of the law firm Allred, Maroko & Goldberg. Her firm handles more women’s rights cases than any other private firm in the nation and has won hundreds of millions of dollars for victims. Ms. Allred also founded and is currently president of the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund (WERLDEF).

As improbable as it might sound, there’s a very good chance that former NFL great O.J. Simpson will be a free man by the end of 2017.

The running back formerly known as ‘The Juice’ is scheduled for a hearing in front of the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners in Carson City on Thursday, July 20. Simpson will participate via video from the Lovelock Correctional Institution located in the barren wilderness of Northwestern Nevada.

If a simple majority of the four commissioners vote in favor of parole, Simpson will be released in early October. If the vote is a 2-2 deadlock the commissioners will get a couple of their peers involved via video from Las Vegas. The second round of voting would involve all six commissioners and once again require a simple majority to set Simpson free. Should the second round of voting result in a 3-3 deadlock the Parole Commissioners will try again in January 2018.

It’s unlikely that the process will become that involved. Most experts on the Nevada parole system that have spoken to the media are of the opinion that Simpson is a strong candidate for parole. The regulatory structure of Nevada’s parole system also works in his favor.

His former lawyer Yale Galanter explains:

“It’s based on his behavior in prison and that certainly hasn’t changed. He’s been a model inmate. He’s had no write-ups, no disciplinary issues. By all accounts, he’s totally abided by the rules. Here, if you’re a model prisoner, you behave yourself, you’re not a flight risk, you get paroled.”

For O.J., the key component of that explanation is that the parole decision is based exclusively on his behavior in prison. That takes the mid 90’s ‘unpleasantness’ with his ex-wife Nicole Brown and a waiter named Ron Goldman from the once hip, now defunct Los Angeles restaurant Mezzaluna off the table. For those of you that were living in a cave during the 1990’s, Simpson was charged with the grisly decapitation murders of his ex-wife and Goldman. He was infamously acquitted on the murder charges but lost a a $33.5 million judgment in civil court for the deaths of Brown and Goldman. The murders and the subsequent trial were one of the biggest media train wrecks in history. The perception that OJ is a double murderer that managed to skate has been a dark cloud over his existence ever since but according to Galanter there are four people that won’t judge him on that–and they’re the once deciding the fate of his parole bid:

“The people that are making this decision are part of the legal system. The hype is about the murder charge and the legal system found him not guilty. The law said he didn’t do it.”

Galanter says that the parole hearing itself is basically an opportunity for O.J. to give a statement.

“It’s a fairly routine administrative matter. It’s more like, ‘Mr. Simpson, you’ve been a model prisoner, you have the points, congratulations, do you have anything to say, thank you very much, granted, Oct. 1.’”

It all sounds simple enough, but by now you’re aware that nothing involving O.J. is ‘simple’. The mainstream media has all but assured that the parole hearing will be another three ring circus. The Nevada Department of Corrections as of Friday had issued over 250 media credentials for the hearing and over a dozen satellite trucks are expected to descend on Carson City and Lovelock.

They’re even announcing their decision at the time of the hearing–they usually don’t do that for a couple of weeks. They don’t sound too happy about the situation:

“The media interest in this one case is a disruption to our operation. A decision (on Simpson) is being made at the time of the hearing so that the board’s operation can return to normal as soon as possible after the hearing.”

The media is doing their part to make sure it’s a massive fiasco. A number of networks will broadcast the parole hearing live including CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC and ESPN. It doesn’t sound like O.J. is too happy about it either and he’s concerned that the media hype is going to ‘screw with the parole board and put pressure on them to keep him locked up’. He likely deserves parole under the criteria used in the state of Nevada but his concerns are definitely a possibility.

The more interesting component of this story is what OJ does after he gets out of prison (assuming he’s granted parole). His longtime nemeses the Goldman family are still going to do whatever they can to make his life miserable and sound downright psychotic in this quote:

“They (the Goldmans) have vowed to pursue him to the ends of the earth and will continue to do so after he walks out of prison. His nightmare might be coming to an end, but their’s never will.”

The prospect of OJ Simpson walking out of prison a free man within a matter of months presents no shortage of questions. SPORTS BETTING EXPERTS has set betting odds on the parole hearing and on some of the questions concerning what life will be like for OJ when he ‘becomes a citizen again’ at the age of 70.

Meet Kecia Clarke.

Known to her following as the Talk Boss, Clarke has used her expertise as an attorney and writer to become highly in demand by news networks like CNN and Fox.

Clarke lives by the adage of living life as if it was her last day. She also believes that one should work as if life goes on forever. Those mantras were something that her grandmother taught her as a child and is surely a tool that she’s used to help folks currently.

She caught up with RESPECT Magazine’s Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson on a recent episode of Scoop B Radio.

Clarke wrote a book in 2015, titled Designed To Inspire. In it, she advises her readers to make their home a place where family wants to gather. : “Each room in your home should encourage you to want to be excited,” she said. “Each room should inspire a particular feeling.”

She moves with a purpose and what a journey woman. Kecia Clarke shares her steps about: being a self published author, getting on TV, embracing travel, giving back to those less fortunate and being inspired during the famous OJ Simpson Trial as an attorney.

DJ Esco has dropped the video for “Benjamins,” the last track on his Future-hosted mixtape Project E.T. The mixtape dropped back in June via Datpiff and LiveMixtapes.

Following the visual for “Juice” (in which Esco and Future re-enact OJ Simpson’s controversial Bronco chase), The Coolest DJ In The World decided to give fans a treat with this action packed video.

The five minute visual showcases a series of clips that include Esco performing and eventually riding out into the desert with a leading lady. Towards the end of the video, things go left when Esco’s main girl essentially knocks him unconscious (possibly killing him) and driving off into the night without him. The video closes with a “To Be Continued” caption.

You may notice that Future isn’t present in this particular visual but hopefully he’ll make an appearance in whichever video comes next.

Check out the “Benjamins” video below.

Kanye West is awesome. He is a prolific rapper, talented producer, and an inspiring creative. We are die hard Kanye West fans. Never question our togetherness. Our relationship with the rapper spans at least a decade; with hits like “Power” and “Stronger”. He is the “blue print”. He’s contributed so many wonderful things to music. Thank you, Mr. West. Kanye West is legendary and popular, so it’s only natural that he would be referenced a lot in pop culture, skits, and television shows.

Remember the FX series The People v. O.J. Simpson? Good, glad you remember it. For those of you who don’t watch it, it features John Travolta, Cuba Gooding, jr., David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance, and Sarah Paulson. The series takes you into an in depth view of the OJ Simpson trial. Critics are calling it one of the best new shows on FX.; as far as ratings go.

The OJ Simpson case is the trial of the century and one of the greatest mysteries of our time. Let us remind you, this all happened about 20 years ago. So yes, it was infamous. Here’s a refresher: Okay, long story short, OJ Simpson was, at one point, an American hero. He was a professional football player for the 49ers. He also starred in the Naked Gun movies. Then all of a sudden, his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, turns up murdered, along with her friend, Ron Goldman. They were both stabbed to death. Usually in murder cases, the spouse is the first suspect. Nicole Brown Simpson and OJ Simpson had a history of domestic violence. So naturally, he was their number one suspect. OJ Simpson famously led police officers on a car chase in a white bronco, before he was apprehended. For months, they fought this murder case in court. The only evidence found, at the time, was a bloody glove. OJ tried on the glove, it did not fit. The outcome led to OJ Simpson being acquitted of all charges.

Funny or Die spoofed the OJ Simpson series by switching Kanye West and OJ Simpson. This was hilarious. It focuses on all of Kanye West’s most controversial moments in his career. It covers the stage crashing of Taylor Swift. It covers the fight with Sway on his morning show. It put everything into perspective. No matter what critics say, Kanye West is the best thing to ever happen to music; so there. Check out the clip below, and please don’t forget his awesomeness.
