Dean Michael Martinez-Atilano was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the county of bernalillo at the University of New Mexico Hospital on December 24th 1992 moved to california when I was 5 and we lived with my Aunt Patricia in Tustin, Calif. He came across “One Mic” by Nas and the age of 9 from there he was infatuated by hip-hop to the point where he would have it on repeat on his cd player or walkman at the time.

At around the age of 8 or 9 he started writing my own lyrics over songs and finally on YouTube where he had endless options of beats to. listen too. middle school I would start recording with some equipment my brothers Sean and Kenny Martinez helped me buy and setup. I started testing the waters and I really believed I could do this. So I started freestyling and switching up my style by rapping about the present with likes and a similar style to try and beef up the way I learned how to be more efficient with my delivery. A protege and signee OC Compton Menace of MHG ( Money Hogg Gang) which is big bro’s Label and there is an independent movement and we have a lot of talented artists and producers on our team as well.

Mike Dean is currently working on his upcoming have an album coming out titled “Almost Famous” it’s a sarcastic dry side of me that’s why the name fits so well. I take my music seriously but I also love making it. It’s a whole vibe and feel to every song.
just got a track with Caskey titled “TRVP”.

The upcoming album with more special guests from King Los and Dalyt so think of my new album coming soon “Almost Famous”.

RESPECT.: What inspired your artist name? And where did you get the name from?
Mike Dean: When I was 8 or 9 I came across Nas and the song off the Stillmatic album “One Mic” which lead me to music and inspiration to pursue music under kind of my real name Michael and i just decided why not have my actual name flipped backwards because thats really the vibe i felt. lol until i found out about the producer Mike Dean lmao then it starts alot of conversation like im his son or something lol but Nas def inspired me through that song.

RESPECT.: Where are you from (born and raised)?
Mike Dean: Mike Dean was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was partially raised there until I moved to California when I was 5. So back in 1999-2000, we moved to raised around Garden Grove, Orange, Anaheim, Santa Ana, alot of different locations but i was mostly raised in Cali.

RESPECT.: Where do you currently live?

Mike Dean: I currently live in Anaheim, Orange county Calif. I lived in Minnesota for 3 years chasing a football dream and college education from 2014-2017. but moved back to pursue music and do what i love for my daughter and family.

RESPECT.: Why did you move to where you currently live?

Mike Dean: In Anaheim right by the Angel stadium in Orange county.

RESPECT.: Do you have any other special talents, such as acting, etc.?

Mike Dean: I am also an actor I have been in TV shows and films most recently Trap Queen from “Tales Bet” by Irv Gotti and a film where I have a lead supporting role as “Hot Rod’ in a comedy/ horror film Called “Ahockalypse” on streaming services worldwide.

RESPECT.: When did you start doing music? And when did you start taking it seriously?

Mike Dean: I started writing my own music when I was 8 or 9. I would have the Nas CD on repeat at that point and also Eminem

the Slide Shady LP. I drew inspiration from tongue twisting lyrics to being able to figure out punchlines and how the fluid of writing fueled you to out due your last piece of music. I started practicing the art of freestyle as well and just made sure I could come up with a sentence or word that always rhymed or made sense. When school came around in 3rd grade, I would start freestyling for peers and just writing music in the fields at recess and encouraging other kids to do so too.

RESPECT.: When did you record your first record?

Mike Dean: I recorded my first record when I was 12 my brothers had actually helped me setup a mic and all that on a computer back then we used not even have Garage Band but I forgot the name but lol once I learned how to record over a beat it was over. I fell in love.

RESPECT.: Why music? Describe your passion.

Mike Dean: I always asked myself if music and the passion I had was worth the extra mile. I actually struggled with that for a while to be honest. I didnt know if it was for me i wanted it to be so bad. I didn’t even take the early signs like when I was 15-16 year old in talks with N-credible Entertainment with Nick Cannon brother Gabriel who heard me through my brother Sean or when I was 18 in talks with Curtis Young on a label called Good Guy Music Group. I just never took these as signs and wanted to just make sure I was doing something that was gonna provide and I could succeed at but when I came back home from MN I just knew I could follow my passion and succeed.

RESPECT.: Who/what inspires your sound/music?

Mike Dean: Nas and Em I gotta give credit where its due those two are genius and 50 Cent as well. I grew up off of them.

RESPECT.: Who are the top 3 artists that you currently look up to?

Mike Dean: Nas, Eminem, Daylyt

I dont care for anyone new to be honest the game ain’t got nothing for me to overly love and appreciate besides the people that I have drawn inspiration from or the ones helping me along the way.

RESPECT.: What are your goals when it comes to your music career?

Mike Dean: I want a hot 100. I want a plaque will start there.
