<p><strong>Thierry Guetta</strong> aka<strong> <a href="http://www.mrbrainwash.com/" target="_blank">Mr Brainwash</a> </strong>has been spending time in <strong>Palm Spring</strong> working on a large mural for Coachella. The french street artist, used large scale stencils representing Hitchock with his signature message &#8220;<i>x</i> is beautiful.&#8221; The artist&#8217;s drive is admirable and contributes to what sets him apart from other stencil artist such as<a href="http://respect-mag.com/street-art-nick-walker-self-proclaimed-vandal/"><strong> Nick Walker</strong> </a>or <strong><a href="http://www.banksy.co.uk/">Banksy</a></strong>.</p>

<blockquote><p>&#8220;I want to have fun, to have an adventure. My heart is as big as this whole space. I want to give. The most important thing is to be passionate about what you do, to love what you do, to do it with your heart. If it’s not heart, it’s not good.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Starring in <strong>&#8220;Exit Through The Gift Shop,&#8221;</strong> a documentary of questionable validity about street art in LA, propelled him and his career forward. In the movie, his hobby for filming street artists leads him to his big break as an artist himself. <strong>Mr. </strong><strong>Brainwash </strong>works from impulse.</p>

<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don’t think about what I do. The most important is trying to do good. It&#8217;s about letting go. Art is freedom, that’s why it’s art. Freedom&#8230;there&#8217;s no rules, it doesn’t come with a manual.”</p></blockquote>

<p>Mixing colors and patterns, STATIC, denounces various aspects of our society such as consumerism (above).</p>
<p>The two artists find inspiration in contemporary revolutionary actions. They are heavily influenced by riots and strikes.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>When we started off, one of the first screen prints we did was a piece to do with the Paris student riots, so we’ve always had a bit of an interest in that and tried to subvert it, see what we can do with it, make people look at it differently.</em></p></blockquote>

<p><strong>Nick Walker</strong>&#8216;s street work merges the freedom artists have when using spray cans with the technicality of stencils. He started playing around with stencils in 1992, allowing him to juxtapose photographic imagery to the rawness of graffiti. &#8220;I try to add an element of humour or irony to some paintings to add a little light relief to the walls,&#8221; he says. &#8220;Painting is a form of escapism for me and if my work allows the spectator to do the same thing, then I’ve achieved more than I set out to do.”</p>

<p>Walker often ironically uses the word &#8220;Vandal&#8221; in his own work.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re in New York, you can find the piece below around 14th and 10th near Manhattan&#8217;s Chelsea Market.</p>

<p>&#8220;<strong><a href="http://respect-mag.com/graffiti-bristol-to-host-see-no-evil-street-art-event/">See No Evil</a></strong>&#8221; is making some serious splashes in the street art world this week. <strong>TATS CRU</strong>, <strong>El Mac</strong><strong>, </strong>and <strong> </strong><strong>Nick Walker </strong> are all in Bristol completing their works for the show, not to mention some side pieces they&#8217;re working on just for the hell of it.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s start with TATS CRU. The fact that this group has made an appearance is BIG for Bristol. The members are Bio, BG183, Nicer, HOW, and NOSM, and together they&#8217;ve worked for some big clients like Coca Cola and Sony. Their piece is the one featured above. They worked through the night to complete it. Oh, and they&#8217;re Bronx guys. Hell yeah, New York.</p>
<p><span id="more-12354"></span></p>
<p>Next up, we have another yankee: L.A. artist El Mac. His big thing is photo-realistic murals, so it&#8217;s no surprise that that&#8217;s what he brought to the wall in Bristol. Here&#8217;s how the piece looks so far, but they have one more day of work before it will be complete:</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="12360" data-permalink="https://respect-mag.com/2011/08/graffiti-update-see-no-evil-in-bristol/el-mac-see-no-evil/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/el-mac-see-no-evil.png?fit=900%2C1120&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="900,1120" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="el mac see no evil" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/el-mac-see-no-evil.png?fit=900%2C1120&amp;ssl=1" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/el-mac-see-no-evil.png?fit=640%2C796&amp;ssl=1" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12360" title="el mac see no evil" src="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/el-mac-see-no-evil-822x1024.png?resize=512%2C635" alt="" width="512" height="635" data-recalc-dims="1" /></p>
<p>Last up: British native Nick Walker. Walker first emerged on the street art scene in Bristol in the 1980s, so he must be really comfortable in this area, which explains the fact that he works by day on his <em>See No Evil</em> project, and by night on an entirely different mural. His work for the show is on a 10 story building right next to El Mac&#8217;s building. The work isn&#8217;t done yet, but when complete, the mural will show a 8 story tall banker pouring paint down the building. <strong>Lobster Pictures</strong> and <strong>Hurricane Media</strong> have teamed up to set up a live feed to watch the progress on this beauty. Watch right <a href="http://www.lobstervision.tv/seenoevilbristol#">here</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="12363" data-permalink="https://respect-mag.com/2011/08/graffiti-update-see-no-evil-in-bristol/nick-walker-see-no-evil/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/nick-walker-see-no-evil.jpg?fit=1600%2C1064&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="1600,1064" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="nick walker see no evil" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/nick-walker-see-no-evil.jpg?fit=1600%2C1064&amp;ssl=1" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/nick-walker-see-no-evil.jpg?fit=640%2C426&amp;ssl=1" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12363" title="nick walker see no evil" src="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/nick-walker-see-no-evil-1024x680.jpg?resize=511%2C338" alt="" width="511" height="338" data-recalc-dims="1" /></p>
<p>And if you look to the side, you can see El Mac&#8217;s work right there. It looks even more realistic from this distance!</p>
<p>As we said, Walker is working by night on an entirely different project, so here it is for your viewing pleasure:</p>
