Hip-Hop icon E-40 releases his highly anticipated new EP titled Poverty & Prosperity, his first in over 20 years, since his 1993 EP, The Mail Man. The Bay Area Ambassador shows no signs of slowing down with the release of this new project, on the heels of debuting his hot new single “Gamed Up” featuring artist Rayven Justice.

“In the midst of working on my two albums, ‘Sharp On All 4 Corners Volume 3 & 4,” the good Lord tapped me on the shoulder and gave me an assignment. He told me to speak to the people, to tell it like it is and call it how you see it. E-40 you got something to say!” explains the rap veteran.

Fresh off his nomination for Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year at the Soul Train Awards for his collaboration with Big Sean on “IDFWU,” and releasing four new remixes of his hit single “Choices” featuring French Montana & Kid Ink; Zero, Slim Thug & Kirko Bangz; 50 Cent &Snoop Dogg; and Migos & Rick Ross, E-40 continues to show the next generation of artists how hard work and consistency pay off.

After three decades in the game, E-40’s talent and business savvy keep him relevant in an ever-evolving industry, while also allowing him to branch out into the beverage industry with the successful launch of his signature Earl Stevens Selections, Sluricane Hurricane and his new 40-ounce malt liquor hitting shelves in December.

After collaborating with rising DMV artists Jay IDK and Joey Green for her Canis Major-produced “Nagasaki Nuke” remix, Havana Seoul returns with a 6-track EP entitled, SeoulSZN. The project is just as much of an experience for listeners as it was for Havana Seoul during the creation of every song. In the intro video that is available upon download of the EP, Havana says:

“This past year has been a time of growth for me and consequently the brand that I’m crafting, Havana Seoul. With that said I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with my sound. SeoulSZN is what that exploration sounds like. It’s summer car ride, pre-game music. It’s what it feels like doing 95 on I-95….”

This EP is truly a unique body of work that captures the artistry of Havana Seoul. Effortlessly juxtaposing party anthems like the iLoveMakonnen-inspired “Vintage” and Kam DeLa’s electronic “Nagasaki Nuke switchUP” with candid raps about homelessness in D.C. and racial inequality, Havana Seoul is charismatic and conscious on SeoulSZN.

Team Epic is giving back. The new 7 track EP features fellow 412 rhymers Sovren, Palermo Stone, and Franchise (Come Up Boys). On a day where you are supposed to celebrate yourself, Dean decided to treat his loyal fan base with a new project to vibe out too. There’s is plenty of good summer vibes to blast, but of course the hippie has to throw some smoker jams too! Check it out below and be ready for his full length album ‘Flowers In The Attic‘ to drop soon.
Aside from the mainstream “street” scene we offer cover, today we break a new artist by the name of Chai Tulani who is doin things his own way!
