Rihanna is in fact all about her dollar signs. Although hard at work prepping for her eighth studio album, the “BBHM” singer is ready to take on yet another exciting project – primetime television. On Thursday, Aug. 13, it was revealed that Riri will be joining season 9 of The Voice as a key advisor. NBC’s critically acclaimed talent show took to their Instagram to announce the exciting news. Robert Greenblatt, NBC’s entertainment chairman, also relayed the news to reporters today at the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills saying “We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall. This is one of music’s true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers.” Season 9 of The Voice is set to debut September 21 at 8 p.m. ET.

Jimmy Fallon has Hip-Hop flocking to make an appearance on The Tonight Show! From old to new, The Tonight Show’s stage has been used as a platform, especially recently by emcees from all eras, to make a statement. Last night the spontaneous emcee, Ghostface Killah, performed without the shows usual live Hip-Hop band, The Roots, but instead with another live band, The Revelations. They performed “Love Don’t Live Here No More“, the first track off his recent project “36 Seasons“. Candace Springs also joined Ghost face during his performance as well. After spending four successful seasons as Troy Barnes on NBC’s hit-comedy series, Community, Donald Glover surprised fans when he walked away from the show (well for the time being) in 2013. He decided he wanted to dedicate his time to pursuing a childhood dream of his, which was to be a conscious rapper, who goes by the name of Childish Gambino. However, before he departed, he pitched an idea for a new show called Atlanta (which is based around the hip-hop scene in Glover’s hometown) to FX Network’s executives. Recently, they decided to order a pilot episode of the show and not only will Glover be writing it, he will also be executive producing and starring in it.

Entertainment website Deadline.com is reporting that Glover will be playing  (Earnest “Earn” Marks,) a character whose professional and journey closely resembles his own. Earnest is a misguided youth, who decides college isn’t for him and drops out. He sets out to pursue a career in the music industry, after his cousin experiences overnight stardom and success.  The two will constantly be butting heads in the upcoming comedy series over their musical differences, as they try to dominate the local, yet extremely competitive hip-hop scene.

Kendrick Lamar was last night’s musical guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and he made sure to put on a great performance.

The Compton native performed a high-energy rendition of “i.” With his simple attire of a white shirt and jeans, and his untamed hair Lamar brought a great level of vigor to the performance. The live instrumentals made each bar even more intense.

 Jay Rock and a hat joined Kendrick Lamar on stage shortly after “i” to perform “Pay For It.”  Kendrick serves as feature on this one but that doesn’t mean he brought it any less. Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock’s bars flowed effortlessly on stage. The same cannot be said about the track’s vocal feature Chantal. Her voice appeared to be strained and a bit out of place. Despite this, K. Dot’s musical appearance is one that will be buzzed about for awhile.
