On the come up, DMV’s native Chaz French drops a hot new single “Way Out” from his debut album that is set to release later this year with the legendary, Motown Records.

Chaz along with his independent record label, ThreeSixEight, have recently inked a joint deal with the Motown/Capital Records and with no hold-up, Chaz gets right to work as a new signee releasing new music.

“Way Out” is a high energy track that gives us a clue on how he got up to this point going into details about how he made his way out making for the perfect introduction for all of his new listeners.

Another way that set artists apart  is cover art and talented artist, Naturel depicts “Way Out” with some highly interesting artwork for the cover art.

To commemorate the life of Notorious B.I.G., PINTRILL collaborates with Washington, DC based artist Naturel to produce a limited edition pin set. Each pin is an interpretation of Naturel’s “A T-Bone Steak, Cheese-Eggs, & Welch’s Grape” inspired by Biggie’s lyrics for “Big Poppa”: “So we can steam on the way to the telly, go fill my belly/ A T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch’s grape.”

Each set comes with three pins, with your choice of  gold or silver (with hard enamel), and includes Naturel’s designs: A t-bone steak, cheese-eggs, and Welch’s grape. There are only 100 sets in gold and 100 sets in silver; each set is numbered.

Visual artist and rapper Naturel has just come out of the woodwork with a new track for “Let Us Prey,” produced by !llmind. The cover art, two skeleton hands poised in prayer, was made by Naturel himself. The rapper takes charge on this song, calling out the record labels and the critics. A woman’s voice wails ethereally in the background, calling to mind a sad hymnist in a chapel. The whole effect is vaguely blasphemous and totally raw.

One of the many traditions and past times of the Hip Hop culture is the cypher, a gathered group of rappers taking turns freestyling over top of a beat or instrumental. Recently, the likes of Serius Jones, MeLo-X, Naturel, Skyzoo, iCan, Local Khemistry, and Gilbert Forte were on the Hip Hop Shop show on Fuse TV to take part in continuing this tradition. All seven MC’s had a chance to showcase their lyrical abilities, with each delivering a solid 16 bars.
