Nacho Picasso – “Blunt Raps 2”

Nacho Picasso’s “Blunt Raps 2” displays a burgeoning sound while still capturing his same old villainous ways. Having extensively covered and spent time around him, (albeit very briefly) Nacho defines artistic authenticity, furthering the notion that if he rhymes about it, he’s most likely done it. “Blunt Raps 2” finds the Seattle bad guy stepping outside the proverbial box, penning life scriptures over production from an array of beat makers (Harry Fraud, Jake One, League Of Starz, etc.) that are new to his catalogue. “BR2” is a 13-track quirky narrative, which presents a very polished Picasso, while staying true to his comedically ominous and gritty nature. Staples like “Nacho Man” and “In The Trump” (produced by Harry Fraud, who was also executively produced the project and released it under his SRFSCHL label) lend way to newer vibes like “Hoes Call” and the League Of Starz produced “Dick Suckin Song.” Much to his liking, “Blunt Raps 2” perpetuates his campaign as Hip-Hop’s antagonist. Drugs, guns, and girls are all Nacho Picasso needs for his new “Sex – Drugs – & – Rock – n – Roll” visual. In typical Nacho fashion, SD&RR highlights the finer elements of Seattle’s underground scene and while I’m sure the “props” used in the video are fake, (we know the girls are real) it’s safe to say that nacho practices what he preaches.

“Sex – Drugs – & – Rock – n – Roll” is off his newest project “Stoned & Dethroned” with frequently collaborating production duo Blue Sky Black Death.
