]]> Boldy James the Alchemist, My 1st Chemistry Set Da$h, Domo GenesisIn addition to being one of hip-hop’s most prolific and prodigious producers, Alchemist also has the rare ability to round up some seriously complementary groups of artists. In addition to probably making DJ Khaled jealous, this ability results in truly interesting music. Domo Genesis‘ “Elimination Chamber” is probably the best example, but “Reform School,” is a close-second. There’s not a lyrical continuity between the verses themselves or the chorus and the verses, but the song coheres because of its atmosphere of pure dread; it’s a patchwork quilt of horrors, stitched together by needle-sharp nihilism. Every verse is delivered with a palpable sneer; they bark as they bite, rather than following the former with the latter. Listen below.

Boldy James and Alchemist‘s joint album, My 1st Chemistry Set, is due out next Tuesday, October 15th.
