Atlanta artist Young Quael is one of the most slept on emcee’s in the game right now. Having opened up for the likes of French Montana, K. Michelle, Rich Homie Quan, and Wale to name a few, he is ready to take his talent to new heights as an emcee and songwriter. His experience being a finalists in the XXL Rap Battle in 2012, and landing several MTV Jamz  placements, landed him a spot as an official MTV artist.

Driven by conscious lyrics and melodic rap beats, his confidence cadence can be compared to living legend Kendrick Lamar. With a thriving sound and sick pen game Quael is ready to take the music world by storm. What makes him unique as a creative is that his music is just as impressive as his comedic prowess.

When he is not creating music in the studio, he is cracking jokes as the official in game entertainment facilitator of the Nashville Pro-Am. With the ability to cultivate audiences with laughter and musical talent, he prides himself on not being boxed in as a creative.

Since the release of Straight Outta Compton, a couple of years ago, hip hop biopic films have been a thing!  

Since then, there were talks of a Dogg Pound 4 Life film, which was set to tell the story of DPG’s Kurupt and Daz and their relationship with 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight and others.

The film already started casting but at press time hit a snag on production. One person who got the green light for the film was comedian, Jack Thriller from MTV’s hit show, Wild ‘N Out.

During an interview with Mikey T The Movie Star, comedian Jack Thriller expressed his interest in portraying the late Nate Dogg in the film.

Appearing on Scoop B Radio, Jack Thriller expressed interest in playing the late rapper. He’s watched him in interviews and music videos. “I haven’t got the chance to practice walking like him yet,” Jack Thriller told me on Scoop B Radio.

“But as far as how eloquent he is in his interviews, he’s a very smooth dude. But he doesn’t even talk that much. He’s very short winded and cool with it. That’s why I’m like: ‘yo I can do this sh*t.’”

Last night saw the return of MTV’s long-running Video Music Awards, which — as it does every year — contained a lot of memorable moments, including Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma’s still-simmering beef, political stands from Cardi B and a new, show-stealing Taylor Swift video.

If MTV Wild ‘n Out’s Justina Valentine’s talent were epitomized to an NFL player’s, I’d easily compare her to the Cleveland Browns’ swiss army knife rookie, Jabrill Peppers.

Yup, I said it.

They both rap, sing, rep northern New Jersey faithfully and they both have that ‘thing’ that you can’t coach, yet everyone envies. That ‘thing’ is God-given talent, drive and desire to be the best that they can be.

In today’s entertainment space where the brand extension to your craft is everything, Justina Valentine is in her element and she’s thriving. She’s authentic, but as the aformetioned Peppers, she’s the perfect blend of style and substance.

Justina Valentine has accomplished a lot. Also of note: her freestyles are legendary.

With all that spunk, I’m curious: Where does she get her inspiration? Who Does Justina Valentine find interesting? “Just really only myself,” Justina Valentine told me with a grin. “Naw I’m just kidding!”

“I definitely mess with those who mess with me. So you know, shout out to Fetty shout out to Jersey. You know Fetty is doing his thing. shoutout to my guy Futuristic who’s also on my album.”

Valentine has a few others:

“Drake stay slaying, you know. Big Sean, Kendrick, J.Cole! J.Cole is super dope.”

Man, I remember the first time I caught on to Royce da’ 5’9″

It was my junior year of high school and I wasn’t allowed to watch music videos on MTV or BET.

So, what’s a guy to do? I did it anyway!

My mom would tell me she was going to check the bottom of the cable box and see if it was hot when she came home from work. So, naturally, I found the cheat code. I ran the cold water in the kitched sink until it got extra cold, then I got a sponge and cooled the cable box. By the time my mom came home, the cable box was cooled and was left the way it was when everyone left for school and work that morning.

Why are these details important, you ask? This set the stage for the formative years of my hearing Royce da 5’9’s music.

Well, I clearly remember coming home from school and checking out the music video for Rock With Me.

That song, Royce’s, also featured Eminem. I’d been sold on Eminem since he appeared on the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards and marched into the entrance of Radio City Music Hall with a ton of Eminem look-a-likes.

In turn, Eminem shook Carson Daly’s hand and left Fred Durst hanging while rapping to the hit, “The Real Slim Shady.”

Now that I’ve bored you, I say all of that to say that I thought Royce was talented in Rock With Me and the collaboration of he and Eminem meant the world to me back then.As talented a lyricist that Royce is, one would wonder who else he repects lyrically.

In a recent conversation on Scoop B Radio Overtime, Royce da’ 5’9 broke it down for me. “Biggie, Jay-Z, and Nas were in terms of albums were the first albums that I was able to appreciate from a technical, lyrical, standpoint,” Royce da’ 5’9″ told me on Scoop B Radio Overtime.

“I’ve always been influenced by Redman, Ras Kass, the Helter Skelter album was a big album in my household. D.O.C. is a criminally slept on emcee out of the west coast. I think had he not had that accident he shoots to top three easily, Big L.”

Big L??  Yup Big L, Harlem’s finest! He’s very underrated. Royce thinks so too. “Criminally underrated,” Royce da’ 5’9 said.

“I think Big L was better than Jay-Z at that time, just in my opinion. Let me know if y’all disagree because we can argue.”

Nope, we’re saying nothing.

Fetty Wap is accomplished beyond measure after smash hits like 679, My Wap and Trap Queen that lit up the airwaves like Christmas in July.

The Paterson, NJ native won Billboard, BET and MTV awards for his accomplishments and many in the New York tri-state area are proud of his success.

With the success that he’s received, one person is complaining that business dealings with the artist have not gone successful. In an interview with DJ Tarzan and Cliff Po on the Henny & Redbull Podcast, local artist Muscle Team Fuzz who also produces and promotes club functions claims that he helped Fetty Wap build his brand during his climb. Muscle Team Fuzz, also from Paterson, NJ native says that while he and Fetty Wap have had no problems and thinks the world of Fetty Wap, he believes that Nitt da Gritt is responsible for changing Fetty Wap’s perception of him. From that, their business relationship went sour.
