J.Cole rocked the house last night during a run of Mountain Dew’s 2014 Dew Tour in Brooklyn, N.Y. Set at the House of VANS, Cole, dressed in a Braves baseball jersey, gave a real cold performance. Photographer Cody York was there to snap this cool photo as Cole ran through songs such as “Nobody’s Perfect” and “Can’t Get Enough.” Check some video footage of the performance below.

As always, Talib Kweli has a way with words. While sitting down with Sway and Heather B on Sway in the Morning, the Brooklyn emcee gave his thoughts on Rick Ross and Lil’ Wayne recently losing their corporate sponsors. Though he was critical of both artists, he says that his criticism was the product of being a participant in the community of hip-hop and that it’s something we should all be doing. It was never about taking the moral high ground or making them lose money. He particularly emphasizes that he enjoys both artists’ music, a good thing to remember when taking sides in these debates, which don’t actually have discernible sides.

Earlier today a new ad campaign for Mountain Dew featuring Lil Wayne and Mac Miller surfaced with help from a bevy of other stars. These two got together on a track for Mac’s latest project (Macadelic), so it’s good to see them continuing that partnership. It’s clear these two bring some flair to this commercial, but it remains to be seen if it’ll help sell soda. Get that paper any way you can. Be sure to check out the video below.

Mountain Dew enlisted The Graffiti Kings to make a mural of the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville on London’s most famous graffiti spot.

Why?

Mountain Dew asked its Facebook fans to vote on their “greatest heroes to immortalize” and the winners were painted onto the Leake Street Tunnel. The Graffiti Kings then made it a reality. They created the 10ft by 12ft murals using over 1,000 paintballs, 2 guns, 30 gas canisters, and some incredible talent.

All of this coincides with Mountain Dew’s new street artist obsession. They’ve also asked their Facebook fans to submit their own virtual street art pieces as part of a contest. The winner will get £5,000 and a job as the brand’s official street artist.
