Here’s it is: the exclusive premier of the artful and striking video for “Morning Alone.” Being the third music video attached to Soul Khan‘s Psalm EP from last year, “Morning Alone” takes a vastly different route than either “The Machine” or “Rusted Ghosts” did. Most noticeably, the clip is completely void of any Soul Khan appearances–as Khan told us in our interview last week, he wasn’t even present for the video’s production. In many ways, that’s fitting; Khan‘s center-stage presence could distract from some of the haunting subtleties of the clip, which is centered around a distraught grieving woman floating around her house with a vacant expression and hyper-awareness of her solitude. This is in clear echo, though not direct translation, of the lyrical focus: an old grieving widow, dealing with the minute oddities–sad, funny and uplifting–of the process of mourning.
