The Legends Fest: Hip Hop Edition

Hip-hop legend Scarface will be joined by some of hip-hop’s most honorable artists from the 80s and 90s, including KRS-One, MC Lyte, Roxanne Shante, and DJ Quik.

Chicago’s own, Twista, known for his chopper-style of rapping and chart-topping hits, performs in his hometown alongside hip-hop icons to cover fan-favorites and take concert-goers on a trip down memory lane.

Performances by the reigning queens of hip-hop, Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte, and Shawnna, will shut down the building with their legendary hits for the real hip hop lovers.

What do producers, Bigg D and Cainon Lamb have in common?

Well, for starters, the two were honored by the mayor of Miami for their work in music along with K. Foxx, Betty Wright and Uncle Luke at the Jazz In The Gardens festival in Miami.

For those tardy to the party, Jazz In The Gardens is one of the fastest-growing jazz and R&B festivals in America.

To be more specific, according to Miami New Times’ Cristina Jerome, the event curates a mix of artists who embody soul music, with plenty of new acts to provide a bit of flavor for the younger crowd. This year’s stacked lineup includes some of the world’s most sought-after musicians. You’ll want to plan your weekend around these artists.

Bigg D and Lamb are not new to this, they’re true to this. As a matter of fact, the 12th N Collins ENT duo has worked with acts like, R. Kelly, Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx, Fantasia, Mary J. Blige, Ruben Studdard and more as producers.

Add another feather of talent to both of their caps: Missy Elliot.

Elliott’s latest single, “I’m Better,” has been buzzing digitally and on the radio since its release last month. The single will be the first from her untitled forthcoming album.

Technically, 90s R&B is a thing of the past, but its influence in today’s music is still alive and strong. And, Houston-born composer, Coline Creuzot is among the generation of singers and songwriters who strives to preserve it.

You’ve probably heard about Coline’s 2016 single “Truth Is” when it rose to number #24 on the U.S Billboard Adult R&B/Contemporary chart; or you might have heard her sultry vocals on radio and digital airwaves. Now, the burgeoning diva is back with “High Life,” a provocative, upbeat, tune—just right for the summer. On the hook, Coline interpolates the famous line from the classic 1977 hit “Ooh Boy” by R& B group, Rose Royce.

“Ooh boy, I love you so never ever, ever gonna let you go, let you go; never ever, ever gonna let you go.”

Written by Dallas Blocker and produced by J Sounds, the single is what Coline describes as a breath of fresh air.

“My friend Dallas called after I released my last single ‘Truth Is,’ and told me he wrote an amazing song for me,” said Coline in a press release. “When I heard ‘High Life’ I instantly fell in love with it; it’s a breath of fresh air.”

The new track explores a new musical direction for the singer, but Coline says it’s still her:

“It’s fun and sexy but still me and it matches the sounds of the other songs on my project.”

The new single shows a new side of the rising starlet who mostly pens songs about relationships and heartbreak. Currently, the Sony ATV signee is working on her third studio album Timeless, slated for release this summer. Coline’s heartfelt writing chops in tandem with her vocal prowess have led to her being the opening act for various multiplatinum-selling recording artists including Monica, T-Pain, T.I., and Keyshia Cole. With a musical style that implements elements of hip-hop and “chopped n screwed” music; the songster with a big heart and an expansive voice range is building a lane of her own.

For the past few days word on the curb has been that The Brown family has not been doing too well. It appears that Monica‘s basketball player husband Shannon Brown hasn’t been faithful.

Last week a mystery woman claimed she slept with the NBA player. “They put on a good front for the media, and that’s one thing I can say,” she said.  “At the end of the day they’re only fooling themselves.”  Allegedly Shannon was cheating with an Instagram “model,” that says he flew her out to L.A. for what she described as “adult x-rated fun” and provided screenshots of their DM’s for proof.

Since this information has went viral Monica has been very quiet but the R&B singer was seen over the weekend performing at a woman’s conference not wearing her wedding ring.

In addition, Shannon has unfollowed his wife on his instagram (to be fair he unfollowed everyone.)  Recently, he spoke out regarding the alleged rumors on his IG page with a photo of car incident he was recently involved in.

“I survived this, so you already know I could give two f**ks about the lies they tell me or the people that believe them. I got my own back.”

You think Monica drained the brake fluid out of his car? Lol
