Females emcees, or femcees for short, have always thrived off being sexualized and spitty racy lyrics. Rarely do artists like Lauryn Hill — who was forced to sing — come around and they blow to the masses. For every Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj, there’s a Tish Hyman, Noname, and Jean Deux who is facing the plight of the woman emcee who refuses to conform. Looking to add her name to the latter is Brooklyn native Miss Eaves with her oddly sensual new video for, “Hump Day“.

Showcasing different images of fruit, balloons and um… “pleased” women; “Hump Day” is a track about female’s getting to the finish line — even if they decide to be the ones driving if you catch my drift. Aside from the feminist driven visuals which are hilarious, Eaves really does have an infectious hit on her hand. Rhyming in a cadence similar to M.I.A. but just different enough to not stick her with the “Desiigner” tag, Her songwriting ability is on full display as she spews out one clever bar after the other.

Check out the bubbling visual for, “Hump Day” above and be sure to check out the experimentally original Miss Eaves now.
