Always delivering nothing but high quality verses, Cambridge’s own Millyz is starting to set in stone his role in this game. Coming off his recently released album Blanco, Millyz came in hot not even thinking about slowing down.

Having been making noise all of 2017, Millyz wastes no time and gets right to business. Always going in on instrumentals, Boston’s own steps up to the plate and hops on Drakes “Mob Ties.” Being completely comfortable with his skill set as an artist, he lays down serious bars while keeping it settled and friendly (for now). Never caring about anyone else’s opinions or thoughts, the only thing that concerns him is who is going to ride for him.

Proving his lyricism (not only to the veterans in the game, but to everyone else), it’s clear that Millyz doesn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

Grinding harder than ever, Millyz has been applying pressure on almost every record he hops on (ex. Tory Lanez’s “Hate To Say”). His recent alignment with D-Block‘s Jadakiss (as part of Jada’s SoRaspy imprint) definitely adds to the growing hype. Back in March, Millyz connected with Nino Man on their record “No Time 4 U,” which is taken from the highly-rated Blanco EP; this week, he followed that up with another visual for “Find Meaning.” Simply put, the Cambridge native hasn’t disappointed and has proved that he’s striving for more.

The release of Blanco (which you can stream below) gives the streets some fresh material, putting those on notice who aren’t so familiar with him and showing you a different side of the versatile Millyz — he slows it down just a bit to ensure that his message is clear, cut, and precise. The ten-track EP also includes features from Smoke DZA, Neva Soba and Avenue.

Always paying homage to his fellow Bostonians, Millyz’ collaboration with Neva Soba and Avenue on “Peanut Butter Seats” is a big moment for his city. It’s a rarity to see not just two, but three Boston artists on one record, making it hard to decide bar-for-bar who is lyrically on top.

Putting it all on the table for better or worse, Blanco sees Millyz at his most transparent with each track playing out like an open book. For those who’ve watched Millyz’ ascension since the beginning have seen a man turn nothing into something, relying on nothing but wits and his gut feeling.

Along with the release of the video, Millyz also announced that SPED The Sequel will drop September 19th. The project features production from The Columbians (Wiz Khalifa, Fat Trel, Jadakiss) and Montage (Styles P, Dave East, Rich The Kid). Along with Jadakiss who is featured on “Back To The Money”, Styles P makes an appearance on a track entitled “Young Tommy”.

Millyz is a rising star with a growing fan base whose name has been buzzing on the Boston music scene since 2009 and recently began receiving national exposure. He has opened for top hip-hop artists including Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross, headlined numerous shows in the New England area, and recorded with artists such as Jadakiss, Freeway, Killer Mike, and Cousin Stizz, among others.

That’s really the best way to put it.  In case you aren’t familiar with the spitter yet, you might want to become knowledgeable about the promising Cambridge, MA native.  Millyz has been treading his own path, building a solid fan base within the New England district and clearly beyond.  Having already been featured on Funk Flex’s show, where we heard him flow the first time, as well as Statik Selektah’s show on Shade 45, Millyz continues to further his name and brand.

A strong affiliate of the legendary LOX collective, he has collaborated with the likes of Jadakiss and recently, he unveiled his brand new cut titled “Young Tommy.” Inspired by Joseph Sikora’s character on the hit Starz program “Power,” the track finds Millyz trading bars Styles P of The LOX.

Boston’s Millyz arrives with his new project, SPED. The follow-up to his well-recieved Future Memories EP comes a day after hosting a listening party at a local sneaker boutique, which featured Boston’s most prominent DJs and media publications; a testament of the rising rapper’s talent and lengthy network.

Featuring 17 tracks, the new collection of music is on the darker side, the rapper admits, “SPED is a project I made going through a dark period in my life, the music reflects that.“ Besides a few loosies in “Substance,” “Drift,” and “Roll The Dice,”  there wasn’t a great deal of pre-release promotion and in a way, that makes the project special. Sometimes it’s best to let the music speak for itself and forgo any long thought out marketing campaigns. This is exactly what the case is here.

Over the last five years, Millyz has built up a strong reputation for delivering quality music through a slew of mixtapes and standout collaborations. Whether it’s original cuts or industry freestyles–both of which appear on SPED–he’s been consistent with his rhymes but also makes sure to keep his content personal yet relatable. With drug infused raps, he takes listeners on a dark and somewhat twisted journey. While fans will certainly enjoy the project, it clears that it doubles as a platform for the rapper to get a few things off his chest.

Millyz‘s collaborative catalogue is quite impressive for an artist who is still in the early stages of his career. The Boston upstart has worked with established talent such as Jadakiss, Killer Mike, Sean Kingston, Freeway, and Fat Trel. This week, he adds to the list with “Roll The Dice,” featuring Harlem’s Dave East.

A follow-up to the introspective Statik Selektah-produced “Substance,” the rising East Coast rapper has strong outings over the uncredited dreamy production. Millyz discusses his past before refocusing his bars on a promising future. He raps, “Pistol out the window, trying to take a life, that’s the past, this the future, my money blue, looking like a Hoover.” Following a short sample from A Bronx Tale, East delivers a fierce verse and discusses the environment that he grew up in.

There’s no word whether this track will live on a forthcoming project, but for now, enjoy “Roll The Dice” below.
