On the latest project Mike Smith told Hype Magazine’s Jerry Doby:

“This single ‘Alibi’ is probably one of the highlights of my music career. I got to work alongside RZA, who is arguably considered one of the greatest producers of all-time. I was also able to collaborate with King Tech on ‘Alibi’ who is a legend in his own right. Being partners with RZA and Tech in Razor Sharp Records is one thing, but having validation as a songwriter by having the chance to work with them creatively is truly one of my greatest achievements.”

“Alibi” is the follow up single to “Daddy’s Little Girl,” which features Inspectah Deck and Iliana Eve. RESPECT.Magazine is told that they are collaborating on a forthcoming Smith Hay & the Blue Notes album that is being released next month through their Smith & Hay Records/ SMH Entertainment brand.

For some reason when discussing some of the best lyricists in the game, Kxng Crooked’s (and Slaughterhouse as a whole) name can often get lost in the jumbling influx of new artists. However, when it comes down to it, Crooked’s pen game is undeniably elite and “Ashamed” puts his craft on full display. Kxng Crooked and Co. (Mike Smith, DJ Revolution, Jonathan Hay, Tabu, and King Tech) unite on a smoothed-out, scratch heavy, piece of sonic artowrk that captures the fundamental aspects of this culture we call Hip-Hop.

The DAT Tape singles star Cyhi The Prynce with a special appearance on Side B from Caskey. Producers Jonathan Hay, Mike Smith and King Tech produced these two singles with a throwback concept of Side A / Side B singles on an old school DAT Tape.

Side A: I’ve Been Waiting feat Cyhi The Prynce and Shalé
Side B: Flower In The Attic feat Cyhi The Prynce, Frankie Porkchops, Caskey, Mike Smith and Shalé

Now available through Spotify and Jay Z’s Tidal from the album When Music Worlds Collide, these songs were mixed to DAT Tape, which is the reason why they have the sonic personality that they do. Side A’s “I’ve Been Waiting” feat Cyhi The Prynce and Shalé is part of the reality series “The Haymaker”.

The DAT Tape singles were produced by Jonathan Hay, Mike Smith and King Tech of Shade 45.
