Ice-T and Mickey Bentson (Pay Up Management) announced today that they will be joining SirusXM for a Backspin-presented “Art of Rap Festival.” The festival will take place on July 16 of this summer and feature a ton of performances from some legendary acts. Public Enemy, Mobb Deep, Ice-T, Naughty By Nature, The Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, and EPMD are just some of the names that will be at the Dallas, Texas event.

“Hip Hop is crucial to many people’s lives and “The Art of Rap” is the true game of Hip-Hop,” Mickey Bentson said.

The Art of Rap Festival follows up Ice-T’s “critically-acclaimed” 2012 documentary, Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap. SirusXM’s Backspin station plays all the classic Hip-Hop from the 80’s and 90’s era, giving the proper performers for the festival this summer.

“SirusXM Backspin Presents The Art of Rap Festival’ gives SirusXM an opportunity to celebrate Hip-Hop music with events featuring some of the it’s most influential powerhouse artists,” said Senior Vice President Ross Zapin of Event Marketing and more for SirusXM.

Tickets for the event will be pre-saled on Thursday, May 12 at 10 PM EST to May 10 at 10 PM EST.

On May 13 at 4 PM EST, subscribers of SirusXM can enter for the chance to win a trip to New York, including a two-night stay, round-trip airfare, and a pair of VIP tickers for the July 29 festival at the Amphitheater in Coney Island. Below you can check out the rest of the dates for the festival.
