Another young MC harkening out of Chicago, 20-year-old Mayo has all the ingredients to blow up – a slew of styles, big name guest appearances and a solid production. His latest single, “Memories,” should evoke fond reflections for many—namely those who have experienced relationships that have ultimately slipped away. “This song embodies what I went through in my last relationship with someone I thought was everything I needed, but turned out being everything I didn’t want or need,” Mayo explains. Mr. Carmack handles production duties, cooking up a smooth beat that perfectly captures the nostalgic mood, while Sydney Jay’s stirring vocals only add to the appeal. Listen below.

Rene Almanza‘s work is a combination of comics, fine art, illustration and everyday memories. It’s not about creating an optical image or technical representation in order  to purely reproduce something. For him optical imagery is the task of machinery, a camera lens or photograph.”Memory drawing by contrast comes from instinct, and emerges from images absorbed by the mind over time,” he says.

His graceful sinuous style is composed of expressionist lines, representing the urgency within him to constantly create. “When you talk too much about an idea you don’t follow it through, the moment is lost.” His image is a reflection of his mind, this is why the line is continuous. “I try to keep up with the idea so that it doesn’t escape me.”

His work brings a new question on Street Art: does it have to be ON the streets or inspired BY the streets?
