Nitty Scott, MC Talks Double Standards, Sexuality and Past Relationship With Kendrick Lamar

Nitty Scott, MC stopped by Ebro in the Morning to discuss her newfound comfort with her sexuality, which has caused quite a stir on social media. The Brooklyn emcee stated that the main reason for her gradual image change comes from the growth she’s undertaken since she first broke out on the scene at 19 years old.

According to Nitty, her previous team told her that she couldn’t be smart, progressive and sexy at the same time because it would be too intimidating. So, she learned how to dumb it down for awhile, which inevitably caused her to feel suppressed and miserable.

Before ending the interview with a couple of bars, Nitty Scott, MC also got into the double standards in hip-hop, her previous year-long relationship with Kendrick Lamar and dudes (and females) suddenly sliding into her DMs. Check it out below.

Nitty Scott, MC offered a rather interesting take on her “Post To Be” freestyle, which borrows from Omarion’s track featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko. On the bouncy instrumental, Nitty’s effortless and engaging flow gets into everything from haters and having “the underground on lock,” to taking somebody’s girl while possibly giving her the courtesy to “toke for free”. Are you an aspiring MC looking to make it big? This just might be your big chance. Duck Down Records is sponsoring a contest for the next big MC to create and original track for NBA 2K12.

Alex Kresovich already won the producer phase of the competitions and now it’s time for the MC’s to rap over his beat.

Starting TODAY, MC’s will have two weeks to submit ONE clean track using Alex Kresovich’s “The Return” beat. We urge MCs to record music that DOES NOT include obvious references to basketball. Be creative with your delivery & overall theme.

Then, Submit Your MC Track To Our SoundCloud DropBox

(When Submitting MC Tracks, Please Include Your Full Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, And Email Address In The Personal Message)

MCs are also encouraged to record video of their recording process, which can be included with their final submission. Videos can be uploaded via file sharing sites (such as YouSendIt or SendSpace) & emailed to: nba2k12@duckdown.com. Please don’t attach your MP3 submission as that should be uploaded to the SoundCloud DropBox. When emailing the link to your video please include your Name, Track Name & Phone #.

All submissions must be uploaded to the SoundCloud Dropbox by 12PM EST on April 27th. At 12PM EST on April 29th, after the Top Ten songs are determined by Duck Down Music and 2K Sports, they will again be streamed online via a custom SoundCloud music player at NBA 2K & Duck Down Music’s Facebook pages. Fans will again have the chance to vote once for their favorite track by “Liking” the one they feel is best. Voting ends at 12PM EST on May 6th & the grand prize winners will be announced.The grand prize winners of the contest, which will consist of one producer and one MC, will have their song placed in the music soundtrack for NBA 2K12.

In addition, each winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City, where they will have the special opportunity to perform the song live at Duck Down’s CMJ Showcase in October 2011. The Top Ten MCs & Top Ten Producers selected from each phase will also receive premium accounts at SoundCloud, valued at $700.
