With her first single of the year, as well as her first under her new boss, the Puerto Rican singer, who calls The Bronx home, gives us a new visual for “Lobster”, a rebellious, yet extremely laid back song inspired by her grandmother’s “love for cooking lobster, which allowed the family to bond”.

Directed by Greg Cally, “Lobster” is unique in the sense that the entire video is played in a reverse sequence, seeing Maxine alternate between scenes of gathering with family, turning up with friends, and pre-gaming for the turn up; all while never leaving her building.

Maxine Ashley is i am OTHER’s 19-year-old songstress who hails from the Bronx. Usher is a multiplatinum R&B singer whose new album, Looking 4 Myself, just dropped on Tuesday. They both recorded a song called “Hot Thing,” produced by Pharrell. Except Maxine’s version is a leaked demo featuring Lil Wayne, and Usher’s is an official release featuring ASAP Rocky. The honorable DJ Freakiii from TheNeptunes.org did the deed and mixed together the two iterations into a seven-minute jam. Call it Mika’s Mega Mashup.
