“Fashion Nova is making a huge impact in the fashion world. I see the brand everywhere and their pieces are worn by so many notable artists. Rap and fashion have always been intertwined, so I was inspired to write this song. I want listeners to feel like they’re on the runway. That’s why I rhyme, “tell me where to find your stage. It can be anywhere, at anytime, let them have it.”

RESPECT.: Where are you based?

I am Long Island born and raised.

RESPECT.: How did this music journey begin?

I started taking it seriously in back in 2014. One of my friends would make beats and we were actually good. We just started making music since then.

RESPECT.: How’s that been going?

It’s been great and you get to visit different places. You also get to meet people that been in the game longer and soak up knowledge.

RESPECT.: How did the name Maui ARN come about?

Our group in high school was called Maui nation. I can’t really tell you how the Maui came about but I know it has something to do with how we felt and how we dressed up. We were very swaggy and always had the best fits.

RESPECT.: Aside from your newest song “Feelings Attached” I really like the song “Creep” I bet you get that a lot though. You really have music that sounds great especially to a women’s ears. Did you do that on purpose?

That is my biggest fan base right now. I didn’t try to direct my music like that. I think it is because of the emotions I share. I speak on old relationships in ways that are relatable and I just let it out and put it in the music. It is pretty therapeutic to be honest.

RESPECT.: Would you say feelings attached is an example of that as well?

It was pretty much true. I am not going to speak on the situation but it was pretty much real.

RESPECT.: What was the process behind the music and the song?

When making the song I was just writing what I was feeling to the beat. If you didn’t understand the song then you will understand the video.  This is song is something you know about or you have been through.  A lot of my music is going to be like that.

RESPECT.: What’s next?

More interviews and setting up for the future. I am hoping to drop another video soon and drop more music.

RESPECT.: What is that music already sounds like?

It is a mixture of everything. R&B vibes, turned up vibes, club vibes. A bunch of different personalities for every mood of the day. The next project I have on the way is called Don’t Speak On Me.

RESPECT.: Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years in the industry?

I see myself as an ambassador for several companies. A face of a brand because I feel like there is more than I can give beyond than just music.
