The Game is terrorizing the industry in his latest video for his new song “Bigger Than Me.” In an abandoned mansion,Game wreaks havoc on the upcoming artists in the industry with a chainsaw. The Matt Alonzo-directed video is set-up like a horror movie fully equipped with blood, witches, and wolves. The Game spits from his royal throne where he professes that these new age rappers just aren’t bigger than him. The track will be featured on his new album Blood Money: La Familia which drops September 16, the same day as 50 Cent’s Street Immortal is set to drop. Game and Jeezy are two very different rappers. Nevertheless, they have one undeniable similarity: they both put on for their cities. Teaming up with Matt Alonzo for visuals and Kendrick Lamar for [added] grit, Game now has a video for “The City,” the standout, mood-setting track from last year’s The R.E.D. Album. With all the fanfare behind the “Otis” video and the release of Watch the Throne, the long-awaited video for Common and Nas‘ “Ghetto Dreams” flew waaaaay under the radar. That’s not surprising, though: while Jay-Z and Kanye spend millions of dollars on a video that only has two shots in it, “Ghetto Dreams” takes a legitimately minimalist approach. One part beautiful woman (in this case Bria Myles), plus two parts rap legends, confident enough in their verses that pageantry is unnecessary, and you’ve got a video. Big ups to director Matt Alonzo for getting the concept of the video just right, although I’ll say right now what everyone should probably be thinking: that look between Common and Nas at the end is pretty suspect.
