One of the most polarizing artists in Hip-Hop has returned with an official follow-up to his debut, There’s Really A Wolf. Below lies Russ‘ sophomore album Zoo, which contains 12 tracks and additional appearances from Scott Storch, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and Mahalia.

This year, YoungBoy Never Broke Again has certainly come into his own as one of the most talented (and transparent) artists of Hip-Hop’s new generation. For the past couple of weeks, the Louisiana artist has delivered two quality EPs: 4Freedom and, alongside Kevin Gates, 4Respect. Now, he keeps the momentum going with 4Loyalty, four new tracks that see appearances from Quando Rondo and Young Thug. Vibe to it below.

Double standards in America are just disgusting, don’t you think? Like how can one set of people, have a completely different set of rules and regulations just based on skin color, sexual preference of gender. It’s crazy. One of the most blasphemous double standards is the fact that it’s more frowned upon for men to pursue sugar mamas as opposed to what women are doing with these older men. Where’s the equality??

I’ll tell you where, it’s with revolutionary saxophonist/singer Masego & his equally as talented partner SiR, as they drop off their sultry new collaboration, “Old Age.”

Set to the tone of seductive baselines combined with Masego’s keen Sax & SiR’s uniquely wonderful voice, “Old Age” is a fun, energetic track about two young men fantasizing over older women with big bags. While the topic may sound shallow at it’s core, that’s where the genius of SiR & Masego come in, as they disguise the easy-to-dismiss boastful lyrics in a beautifully packaged present filled with groovy riffs, fun cadences & a soulful sound.

Check out, “Old Age” below and be sure to keep an eye on Masego & SiR, respectively, as both careers are starting to heat up. Masego’s debut is slated for release on 9/7.

SiR has been keeping busy since the news broke of his signing to the TDE Label just over a week ago. He dropped the video for his “W$ Boi” single and announced his upcoming Her Too EP. Now he returns with his second single, “Ooh Nah Nah,” which features Virginia native Masego. Masego is a perfect addition to the song with his signature “Trap House Jazz” sound, a fusion of Jazz and Hip-Hop. You may be familiar with him as the Soundcloud sensation released his 11 track EP, Loose Thoughts last summer.

On this smooth banger, the two artists trade verses about a girl they just met that they can’t stop thinking about. SiR sings, “Ooh nah nah, ooh mama\I tried but I can’t stop thinking ’bout you\And your body, touchin’ my body.” Look out for this track to appear on the EP dropping on February 10th. Stream via Apple Music.

Not everybody is an overnight success like the man of the hour, Desiigner. Not everybody can only have one official track released and get signed by a major label. Some people take the long road to triumph and instead opt for the slow blew and are often considered “slept on”. These artists know that feeling. Featuring tracks from Masego, Asaiah Ziv, and more; here is this weeks segment of With All Due RESPECT.: 5 Songs You’ve Been Sleeping On. Check out the track below and let us know what you think in the comment section!

Masego – “Too Much”

After capturing the attention of millions with last years Pink Polo EP, Virgina native Masego returns with another one in his new project, Loose Thoughts. Although the tape it’s self is pure fire — you should be hearing “Send Yo’ Rita!” every where pretty soon — it’s the track “Too Much” that grabbed my attention. Crooning “It takes too much too much too much to entertain ya” over smooth sax melodies, the self titled “Mr. I Do Everything” exhibits his signature TrapHouseJazz style in full force on this bouncy new track. Check out the track below and give a listen to his new project, Loose Thoughts.

Don Mykel – “Nocturnal (Feat. Anthony King)”

Harlem native Don Mykel has been building quite a buzz lately. After turning Sway In The Morning into his personal lyrical playground with this freestyle, many have taken notice of the young hotspitter. Proving his not just an internet fad, Mykel silenced the doubters with his creative new tape, G.O.D Mykel: The Martyr. Particularly it’s the track, “Nocturnal” that’s got me buzzing. Pairing Mykel’s dense bars and double time flow with Anthony King‘s melodic vocals, “Nocturnal” is a soothing but sobering tune. Bars like “I’m only 10 writing poems in pop’s basement” give insight into the experiences that made him the artist he is today. Check out the track below and be sure to give G.O.D Mykel: The Martyr a listen.

Foggieraw. – “Pull Up 2 Ya (Feat. Jayizms)

Though lyricism takes a back seat to melodies and drum kicks, Maryland rep Foggieraw. (formerly known as Jayo) provides a vibey new track in “Pull Up 2 Ya“. Sampling my second favorite Brandy song ever — nothing can top “I Wanna Be Down” — in “Talk About Our Love“, the song is a short but head knocking track that captures your attention with upbeat synths and tough drum kicks. With only 20K plays, the bandwagon definitely has room currently, but don’t wait too long. Check out the track below.

Asaiah Ziv – “Sonder (Feat. POW & Luna)”

Las Vegas native Asaiah Ziv is no stranger to controversy nor struggle. After releasing a breakthrough album on the Christian Billboard charts with his debut, Murder My Flesh, Ziv — formerly known as KIDD — decided to renounce his faith in the Christian religion. Subsequently his creative direction changed and I’m not gonna complain because it gave us the masterful project, Free Your Soul [Side A], and the fantastic track, “Sonder“. Enlisting fellow Sin City natives, POW (who absolutely steal the show) and Luna, “Sonder” is relatable track about the woes of life which culminate with the bars, “I’ve been smoking too much lately I need to chill/ They told me I’m in control of my will/ They told me the truth is never revealed/ They told me time’s the only way you heal/ But I guess”. Take my advice and stop sleeping on Ziv now, because the KIDD has next. Check out the track below and be sure to give Free Your Soul [Side A] a listen.

YK – “See”

Growing up, the legendary Houston group Geto Boys were one of my favorite groups (many folks didn’t understand why a mixed kid from California loved southern music so much), so when I heard Bushwick Bill had a son that rapped I just had to listen. I was not disappointed. Going by the name YK, which stands for Young Knowledge, the Houston boy impresses with his infectious track, “See“. The trappy beat compliments YK well as his flow patterns alter from .45 to AK with ease. Bump this at your next party and watch the people go wild. Check out the track below.

There you have it! Let us know how we did, did we get it right? Are we still sleeping on your favorite local artist? Let us know in the comment section below!

After becoming a Soundcloud Sensation with last year’s Pink Polo EP, Virginia native Masego delivers again with the new EP Loose Thoughts. The 23-year-old instrument extraordinaire premiered the new project with Vibe on Wednesday. “This is stuff that if they don’t come out now, they’ll never come out.” He told the magazine, “This is like the B-Squad. The cut squad ain’t varsity but they can all still dunk.” The crazy part is…. That if this is the “B-Squad”, we’re in for a hell of a ride with this kid.

With highlight tracks from the EP such as: “Send Yo Rita!“, “I’m In Hollywood” and “Disconnected“; Masego freshly fuses old school swing jazz with new age trap drums all blended with a smooth melodic flow and witty character changes (watch out for Uncle Sego). It’s a practice that he’s labeled, “Traphouse Jazz” and we’re all for it. After releasing the house party jam of the year in 2015 with “Girls That Dance” and delivering a fantastic hook on Goldlink‘s “Late Night”, Masego is quickly becoming a fan favorite.

Check out Loose Thoughts below and let us know what you think in the comment section.

Two of the DMV’s dopest and most unique talents, Abir and Masego, have linked up for their latest track, “Wave”. The EFF3X produced track is the perfect collaboration of Abir’s soulful sound and Masego’s jazz influence.

Hopefully, this won’t be the last collaboration we get from the creatives. In the meantime, listen to “Wave” below:

It seems as though we’re in an age where Hip-Hop and EDM are somewhat synonymous with one another. With both genres increasingly blending, Trillectro was the perfect festival to showcase both sides. Artists like Dom Kennedy, Kehlani, JMSN, D.R.A.M, and Chance The Rapper shard the stage with the likes of Masego, Cashmere Cat, and RL Grime, forming an artistic bond between urban culture and electronic music. From hardcore Hip-Hop heads to wrist beads and glow sticks, Trillectro 2015 was the trillest of trill.
