Texas A&M’s Josh Reynolds will embark on a new journey with the NFL Draft slated for tomorrow. The dude goes from not even being able to get a scholarship offer to hitting the draft. Last season, he led the SEC with 1,039 yards and was tied with the conference with touchdowns with 12.

In between the grueling travel schedule of workouts, I sat down with Reynolds and talked about Peyton Manning being his dream QB to throw him a touchdown pass and the difference between dressing for the club and dressing for church!

Josh Reynolds tells Scoop B Radio Overtime the best advice that he’s received during the NFL Draft Process

Check Out Josh Reynolds and Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson’s 2017 NFL Draft Q & A

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: You couldn’t get a scholarship offer in football and you ended up getting an offer from Oregon state. It was pulled how did you feel?

Josh Reynolds: Its never good to have a scholarship pulled from you especially if its your only scholarship that you have but I mean I figured it was in Gods plan not to have me go to Organ state I am always happy with where he wants me to go and what he wants me to do and it ended up being A & M.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Did you ever weigh the pros and cons like later on at this point when you are looking at the draft. Like what would have happened if I had gone there vs. going to A & M.

Josh Reynolds: Oh definitely. I knew they had a different kind of offense than A & M does that they were more of a through it to the tight end, run game, swing pass, and all that I don’t know how much I would have fit in there and it could have been one of the reasons why they pulled it but I never really got a reason on why they pulled it. So I just kind of figured that was the reason.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: The Lord works in mysterious ways my brotha!

Josh Reynolds: Yeah exactly.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: So last season you lead SEC with 1,039 yards and you were tied with the conference with touchdowns with 12. It kind of came full circle from a guy that was overlooked to a guy that is running the show. How did you feel?

Josh Reynolds: For me to just be able to do something like that is always a great feeling man. Just to have my name out there like I have always wanted to since I was a little kid and in high school growing up. That is one of the reasons why I chose Uco over like a D2 school or something just because I like the big show. For me to lead the big show is amazing man.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: You went to San Antonio John Jay High school which is the football capital of the world. That being said why does colleges over look San Antonio football team?

Josh Reynolds: Oh man I couldn’t even tell you. I have no idea. I ask myself that all the time. I think its just more the area I was in and the school I went to. A lot of the time it didn’t come out of San Antonio I mean out of the school i went to and about eight years its only been me and my brother that has come out of John Jay and its kind of hard to go look at a school that doesn’t really bring to much talent out. For me to be able to do that and be a role model to kids that go to Jay or smaller schools like that its great for me.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Is Jay more of a basketball school is more in the suburbs is it in the hood. Like what is it the demographic? People aren’t aware?

Josh Reynolds: It is definitely in the hood. The kind of hood in San Antonio. Then we had lost a lot of our players when Jay broke districts up with another school so the other school that opened up wound up getting all the talent. That is the part that I lived in. So the only reason I went to Jay is because my Mom worked at Jay and so I grew up at Jay and did all that. It was a no brainer.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: So Scouts have been comparing you to Marvin Jones do you see it?

Josh Reynolds: Yeah I actually you know when I first started seeing stuff and hearing they are comparing me to Marvin Jones I definitely youtube him and I do see a lot of myself in him so thats always good to get a comparison to a good athlete. I mean a good player like that.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Ok who did you grow up watching?

Josh Reynolds: Man I have to say a lot of people because I mean at a whole lot of positions because you know I have always been a receiver but I have played a whole bunch of positions growing up and so you know there was no telling I was kind of getting my game from everybody. I liked watching Reggie Bush the way he would cut and then I liked watching Mike V I liked watching different cats you know. I just liked getting my stuff from all around.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: You taking me back to college when I was in the dorm room and Michael Vick was on the cover of 04 Madden.

Josh Reynolds: Yup, yup I had that too.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Its funny because a few years ago I actually interviewed Michael Vick and he said and I asked him “ When you play Madden can you play with yourself on the game?” He says hell no when I play Madden I play with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: So you are embarking on a new journey in your life. What is some of the best advice that you have gotten from anywhere both professional and even in your family?

Josh Reynolds: I mean just enjoy the experience. Not everybody gets to have this experience and sometimes I forget that getting caught up in the all the stuff I have to do and just being so busy sometimes you just forget to relax and take a breath and just enjoy the whole thing. So I mean that is probably one of the biggest advices I have gotten. Its a once in a life time opportunity man and you just got to take it and run with man.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’Robinson: I still want to talk about fashion. I want to give you three scenarios and I want you to tell me what the attire would be. You ready? Ok, first one: Church.

Josh Reynolds: Oh Im wearing some jeans and a collared shirt or slacks and a collared shirt nothing to fancy.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: The movies?

Josh Reynolds: I’m going with shorts and some slippers or some slides on and a white t or a black tee or something.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Ok last one would be the club.

Josh Reynolds: Oh I got to get out clean for the club. I might throw a blazer on with some jeans and some nice shoes or some boots or something.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: So you’ll be wearing the same thing to the club that you’d be wearing to church?

Josh Reynolds: No not exactly. Church I’ll be wearing a polo shirt or something like that but the club I’m getting kinda fancy.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: If you had your dream quarterback that played in the NFL to throw you a pass to win the game, who would you pick?

Josh Reynolds: Depends on what kind of pass it is.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Ok give me two different scenarios.

Josh Reynolds: Alright so if we are on the opposite teams 30 or 40 for a deep ball or something Im going Aaron Rodgers. But if I am anywhere in the red zone or anything 25 and up pretty much red zone Im going Peyton Manning or I mean Tom Brady not Peyton Manning.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: What is the biggest misconception about you?

Josh Reynolds: My speed.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson: Why do you think that is? Because I feel like speed you can’t coach.

Josh Reynolds: Yeah. It is more of a how long of a strider I am nobody actually realize how fast I am until I am actually passing some people up. That was always my problem with some of the deep balls that I would have. I would be out running deep balls because you know they lay off them a little bit because they look like I was running to fast and you know once I get going Im going you know. Im full throttle Id out run the deep balls a little bit.
