You can never really go wrong with anything legitamately relating to J Dilla. On Magnif’s latest single “The Last,” the Detroit dweller displays smooth rhymes, complimenting dreamy vocal samples, to the downright neck-breaking percussion provided by Dilla. The two have a connection that goes all the way back to 2003, when Magnif, as one-half of the underground duo Lawless Element, worked with Dilla on several notable cuts. This is indeed an emotional reminder of the history these two could have made together, had Dilla not untimely passed away in 2006. Check out the track below and let us know how it makes you feel.

New Video: Magnif – “Nightmare”

Magnif gave us amazing visuals for his first video “Nightmare” off of his up-and-coming 2015 EP, Magnif EP. The video, directed by Jay Gregory, paints a visual picture of the words spoken in the song, with beautiful scenic imagery, fog, and glimpses of fast colors that make you feel the artist’s dream-like nightmare.
