Back again with another fly tune, LoVel lets go of his latest single, and everything about “Ready” is EPIC!  We’re certainly familiar with his music, and this is indeed one of our favorite songs from the young Harlem native.

Harlem’s own, singer, songwriter, recording artist, and producer, Lovel, returns to RESPECT. with the premiere of his latest Lee Al-Taquan produced project. 

Free Before 12 is a short prelude to his next full EP, Passenger, set to release at the top of the new year.  The forthcoming project is the second installment of a trilogy of EPs that Lovel has been religiously working on.  His previous release, Backseat Memories is the first of the trilogy, was also featured here on RESPECT. back in 2015, and happens to be one of our favorite indie projects that year.

In his short career as an artist, LoVel’s success has been prominent as he’s gained worldwide exposure and notched over 1.6 Million total plays on Soundcloud with his releases to date.

Harlem’s own LoVel flexes his unique talents as a vocalist on new single “Àndale,” which finds the singer-producer showcasing some rapping chops over a wonderfully woozy instrumental.

“Àndale,” which roughly translates to “Come on!”, is a hypnotizing R&B-Rap hybrid serves another example of just how much LoVel has grown as an artist. It’s clear that he’s eager and willing to experiment with how he uses his most compelling instrument: his voice.

In addition to singing bits of the hook and verses, LoVel switches things up and spits with a sing-song cadence—something that has caught the attention of Hip-Hop royalty. None other than Kid Capri has shown his support of the Lee Al-Taquan-produced track, and you can watch Capri losing his sh*t to “Àndale” on his Instagram page.

While fans keep “Àndale” on repeat, they can rest assured that more LoVel is on the way soon. He’s currently working on a new mixtape, Free Before 12, that he’s looking to drop in December as a prelude to his next EP, Passenger. Not only that, but you can catch him on a mini-tour through the New York City area, which kicked off this summer but continues through the fall.

Harlem singer/producer LoVel delivers a lush and atmospheric new single, “I Swear,” that embraces living and enjoying the good life. For the multi-talented artist, that means concocting the perfect recipe of finding the right girl for the night, and throwing back tequila shots until last call.

The hypnotizing track arrives on the heels of LoVel’s recent, wave-making release of his remix for “Me Too,” which features XXL Freshman and bubbling rapper, Dave East. While that cut had a distinctive and fitting Hip-Hop vibe to it, “I Swear” embraces modern R&B’s flirtations with more spacious sounds.It’s enveloping and airy, yet also grounded by a rich low-end supplying plenty of bass.

Despite the varied sonics, both tracks were produced by the same duo, LoVel and his go-to collaborator, Al-Taquan. And when you also consider the work they did on LoVel’s well received EP, Backseat Memories, it becomes clear that these are two artists certainly worth checking for.

“I Swear” is set to be featured on LoVel’s forthcoming release, Passenger, which is the follow-up to Backseat Memories, and the second part of a three part series. The track is now available through iTunes and all major digital retailers and streaming platforms through LoVel’s recently launched imprint, The Legaxy Era.

Harlem-based R&B artist LoVel gained serious attention earlier this year with the Fetty Wap-assisted burner, “The Move.” While that track inches closer to one million streams, LoVel delivers a wavy and thrilling new free-release with, Backseat Memories.

Save for two features (from Justin Rose and Maxxx Flair), the majority of this eight-track EP is a pure demonstration of LoVel’s talents. And they’re on full display as soon as Backseat Memories gets things started with “Show Off,” a vocals-first joint that sways and subtly bounces over light keys and drums. Another instant is standout “Personal,” a psychedelic swim through the innermost thoughts of a man trying to get out of a relationship because he knows she deserves better. It also transitions smoothly into what feels like a post-breakup night of debauchery in “All That,” which includes a more direct vocal turn from LoVel—yes, the man can rap, too.

Despite an evident mixture of emotions, Backseat Memories‘ sonic focus remains strong and superbly cohesive. Sure enough, you can thank LoVel for that, as he and Lee Al-Taquan (who together form The Hittas) produced the entire EP. Each track on here is connected to one another, allowing the listener to jump around without the feeling that they’re listening to a completely different artist. It’s a rare notion at a time when so many others are trying to appeal to everyone. Instead, LoVel’s carved out a lane for himself, and it’s a musical trip well worth taking; just make sure you have a designated driver.
