]]> Casey Veggies Dom KennedySlow flow expert Casey Veggies has teamed up with frequent collaborator and fellow Californian Dom Kennedy for a remix to “Faces,” a track from his Life Changes mixtape from earlier this year. The song is a celebratory affair that highlights Veggies‘ growing success and his blushing reception. The song is definitely boastful, but there’s an underlying sense of awe at all the life changes he’s experiencing that makes the song fairly humble. This is a sonic parade float: Casey is proud to be the center of attention and he feels that he deserves the spotlight, yet he’s humbled by the fact that he knows the people don’t have to give it to him: there were dozens of others who applied to be in the parade, but he’s the one who got accepted. Casey Veggies and Rockie Fresh have both been doing their thing on the scene, and now the two collaborate again to show off their “Energy.” The Uncle Dave-produced track features both rappers talking about the finer things in life — “gold watch, gold chain, pretty chicks, designer frames.” Casey Veggies’s project Life Changes is out now, and he just got signed to Sylvia Rhone’s new label Vested in Culture. Rockie Fresh is riding his MMG wave with his new mixtape Electric Highway. Check out the collaboration between two of hip-hop’s flashy freshman below.
