]]> Struggle is not a new topic in hip-hop. We hear about it all the time, from the all kinds of artists – the conscious rapper, the trap rapper, the fun rapper, the lyrical rapper. Not always do we hear the story of struggle told with the personal touch we get with the latest from LaQuel.

His first release since his 2015 mixtape Cobalt Condo, “Apply Pressure” paints LaQuel as an artist too acquainted with hard times and dilemmas. Reality based bars revealing the blessings in brokenness and the beauty in heartache fuel LaQuel’s Apply Pressure; creating a resonating record capable of identifying with listeners from various backgrounds and creeds.
