Up and coming rapper Kordoroy Floyd has released the official visual for his “Free” single. His Canadian upbringing and love for hip hop, has allowed him to curate a sonically pleasing sound for music lovers worldwide. His prolific word play and raw confidence, are two reasons why this is release is perfect depiction of his artistry.

In this video, you will see Floyd swagged out riding around in a bumble bee ferrari. As he candidly reminds his fans that nothing in life is free, his on camera charisma is felt. Some lyrics that sand out the most are “gang with me drop the top give ya’ll something just to see, just remember ain’t s**t free”. These catchy bars appear in the chorus, over the Zlender produced beat.

Directed by Kevin Wong and Everett Bumstead this video showcases Floyd’s creativity in a new way. You get a chance to how important his fashion game is, when pairing it with song. But the coolest part of this release, is the way he infused his African roots in a visually pleasing way. “This record is my Audio coffee! It wakes me up. It is really about killing all the doubt and fear in my mind and reminding myself I’m literally the best kept secret with this music, unapologetically African and I’ll never settle for clout over dollars. Ain’t shit Free!”

After six months of recouping, strategizing, and taking a break from the music scene, Canadian rapper Kordoroy Floyd has returned with a new single “Free”. As this is his first coming of the year, it is the perfect follow up to his 2018 self-titled debut album, Kordoroy Floyd. This release a perfect offering of his raw talent, unique story telling, and creativity which is felt throughout.

Produced by up and coming beat maker Zlender, this song is a straight bop. The ethereal, harmonious melody, is a perfect fit over Floyd’s raw and authentic bars. The original sound you will hear, is an ode to his Canadian roots with a hip hop undertone.

Some notable lyrics from this song are “Don’t say you bout it, when you ain’t bout it, yea really it get on my nerves, n****s be weirdos they tossin a pillow, when they gon learn”. He does a good job of firing off punchline after punchline as the chorus melts into his verses.

One of the most unique things about Canadian artists is their diverse upbringing. This is the same for Floyd. As an African growing up in Vancouver, he discovered early on the power in using your voice to breakdown barriers. His confident tone of voice showcases his desire to be great way beyond securing a bag. When asked what this record meant to him, the MC said it reminded him to never settle for fame over fortune.

Whether he’s in his uptempo mood on songs like “MORE” and “Outta Line (Featuring JAG)”, or in a more zoned out downtempo atmosphere on tracks like “Black Blood” and “Punch Drunk”, Floyd delivers his flow excellently with story telling and rapid punchline delivery with melodic tune professing stories of life, love, and death. Canadian rapper, Kordoroy Floyd releases the much-anticipated video for his single, “More,” released back in September. The positive reception of the record is what moved Floyd to shoot it’s accompanying visual. While fueling the anticipation for it, Kordoroy Floyd composed a tweet in October saying, “It was a disaster in the beginning, then I had to smoke one n think about how I was gonna improvise and it came out DOPE!”.

Kordoroy then followed up with his collaborative EP, “96”, with Canadian producer, The Stunt Man. This also marked the first release under his new moniker of Kordoroy Floyd, previously known as Immerze.

The Jazzy Bubblez produced record is inspired by a break up, but not just the average breakup tune. As he sings in the hook, “My chick said she don’t love me no more….so imma get lit” one can only predict the carefree tone on the rest of the song. In the clip, just seconds after a break up, Floyd is seen hitting the club with friends. He celebrates this break up like he just hit a lick.
