RESPECT.: I saw that you had your first release in 2013. Is that how long you’ve been doing music?

I actually been doing music my entire life. I remember being in the studio when I was 6.

RESPECT.: You knew you wanted to start recording since 6 years old?

Yeah

RESPECT.: What sparked this music artist dream?

I went to a birthday party where a girl took us to a theatre where they were doing improv and skits. Like Saturday night live or something. I came home and my mom looked the place up she had me audition.  My mom told me to learn a Janet Jackson song and I sang it for her. She was blown away and she went and got my dad.

RESPECT.: You’ve had a great year so far! You’re coming off the Everlasting tour with an artist named Sammy and you released an EP. You also recently dropped a music video. On your EP I would have to say my favorite track is all the way in. Keke Wyatt is on that. How did that come about?

At this point she is like my sister. When we met I was just writing songs for her in the studio. We got really close. She kind of became my sister and mentor. As many times as I wrote for her it was our first time doing a song together.

RESPECT.: Did you already know what song you wanted to do when you linked up?

We were in the studio and she wasn’t even supposed to be with me that day. She ended up talking to me and we just ended up making the song together.  We wrote it together.

RESPECT.: How important is it to have a close relationship with other music artists?

I think it’s important being that it was easy to do the song and it was fun doing a video together.

RESPECT.: Why was it important to name the EP Real?

All my songs are real and they come from the heart. These are things that happened to me and I know it is music people can relate to.

RESPECT.: You’re from Atlanta?

I am actually from Denver, Colorado, I was born in Germany and then I moved in Atlanta right when I graduated high school. I been here since I was 17.

RESPECT.: Did you already have your plans making it in Atlanta through music at the time?

No it was funny because I just wanted to go to an HBCU. I applied everywhere so I ended up at Clark.

RESPECT.: So your music video “Close that door.” I guess that is what you are promoting the most right now. That had to be a fun music video to shoot.

Yes it was all day and it was funny how we did a reality tv show contest. When they brought the idea to me I was thinking how I couldn’t have thought of a better idea.

RESPECT.: I have to ask, what does it take for you to close the door when you are dating somebody?

Definitely have no signs of cheating. You have to have a lot of ambition. Sometimes people talk about what they want to do and they never do it. I want someone that can access his ambition and goals.

RESPECT.: Will we see you on any other stages this year?

Yes, I was asked to come on the second leg of the everlasting tour. He’s adding two other major R&B artists so it is going to be even bigger.
