North Carolina’s King Mez ups the ante with a collaboration with Rico Beats and lets some tough lyrics fly, spitting, “Wasn’t no gangsta but Kept the ox in drawer with my sox / Because lyrics from The Lox taught me more than my pops”. Mez also takes a second to digress on the meaning of his name; you’ll have to listen to find out what he says. Get excited for his impending project, LLTK2 and stay tuned for more this summer.

Phonte dropped a new record yesterday with help from Detroit-bred emcee eLZhi and producer 9th Wonder.  “Not Here Anymore” is set to be the fourth track on Phonte’s debut solo LP, Charity Starts At Home, which drops September 27th.  9th Wonder complements his former Little Brother member quite well on this joint with a smooth beat to match some silky vocals, not to mention a fire hook.  See more on Phonte’s LP HERE.
