Ken Car$on is an 18-year-old artist from Atlanta, Georgia, making his name known as a true-to-life representation of the what the fresh and youthful talent that is up next walks, talks and sounds like without a doubt.

As an artist on the come up, Ken Car$on is displaying talent that won’t be denied, and today we got the chance to speak with the motivated young artist about his connections with VFILES Loud/Caroline Distribution for their latest album compilation VFILES Loud Vol. 002, his future plans and the musical relationship he has with two of Atlanta’s hitmaking producers, TM88 and Southside.

In 2018, we love the fact that the new era of hip-hop is being heard loud and clear, but being a good artist is only half of the battle, and Ken seems to understand this well as he moves forward. Overall, things are looking promising for the outspoken artist, and we look forward to hearing and seeing more from him. Without any more hold up, get to know Ken Car$on here and now.

RESPECT.: What’s Up and How’s Your day going? What’s a common day for you? 

Ken: My Day’s going well just getting ready to head to the studio shortly. A common day for me includes researching new clothes and new trends, smoking, having studio session and shows depending on the day of the week

RESPECT.: Starting at the beginning, Tell us what or who inspired you to begin recording and releasing music?

Ken: Initially I always wanted knew I wanted to do something in music but I was unsure of to what capacity but I knew it would be something significant. I knew I couldn’t make beats like my older friends  TM88 & Southside but I was able to rap so I started taking that seriously and making it my niche. Once they became aware that rapping is what I wanted to do they started providing me with beats to rap on and it’s been on since then

RESPECT.: So from that point how did you start working with the lifestyle & fashion brand Vfiles to become a Vfiles loud artist

Ken: Vfiles has always been a brand that I have always aspired to work within any capacity and it just so happen that my work got good enough that it got their attention and I take that a major honor because Vfiles is one of the pioneertastemakerr brands in both lifestyle fashion and music.

RESPECT.: As a new artist looking to make his name known throughout the industry how does it feel for you to be working hitmakers such as TM88, Southside, Wheezy Beats, and Richie Souf? What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned about yourself as an artist?

Ken: It’s an honor to work with them all. But it was very hard to catch these amazing producers’ attention. In this game, you have to be very serious. Especially if you’re young like me , I’m only 18 with 4 songs out and I’m affiliated with 808Mafia/CrashDummy and now Vfiles. I’ve been around this game so long as a youngin I haven’t messed up yet and I don’t plan on it. I FEEL AMAZING.

RESPECT.: Recently you performed at Hot 97 Next, Which is a rite of passage for many upcoming artist., What was this experience like for you? What did you do to prepare for this event and is performing a strong part of your artistry?

Ken: It was an honor to be invited to perform on the Hot97 Who’s Next stage so it was all SUPER CONFIDENCE that night so I did not get nervous it was more of an adrenaline rush for me than anything. My motto is I say just go out there and think about yourself in your room alone turning up to your own music. Yes, performances are a big thing if your music moves the people then you’re obviously doing something right.

RESPECT.: So What can we expect from you for 2019?

Ken: More everything!
